1024 * 1024 ÷ 2 = 524288, 1M = 1024k, 1k = 1024b, 1 character = 2b, so it should be like this, I don't really understand either, UMD should be the same.
No! It's 1MB = 1024KB, 1KB = 1024B, 1B = 1 byte, and at the same time 1B = 8 bits, which equals 2 characters, 4 bits equals one character. Bits are also related to encoding, I just don't know how far it has developed nowadays.
