A mobile phone is divided into four levels: A, B, C, and D. Official phones are usually B or C, while gray-market phones are even worse. Official phones are generally refurbished, meaning the phone was broken, repaired, and then given to you, while gray-market phones can be said not to be made by the manufacturer at all. It's best not to buy official phones, and even less advisable to buy gray-market phones.

Gray-market goods refer to items smuggled from abroad, not paying customs duties, relatively cheap in price, and the specifications seem to be somewhat different, after all they didn't go through the official channels.
