It started raining, and he said he suddenly felt sad. Watching the fine rain, he recalled bits and pieces of his high school life. I, too, felt the same way. With eyes blinking open and shut, a day would pass just like that! With the camera flashing, the three years of high school passed just like that! After graduation, I wanted to write an article to commemorate my high school life. Using a time machine, I placed myself back in 2008. That summer, I stepped through the gates of No. 3 High School with ambitious determination, carrying my own dreams and the expectations of my family. Thus began my high school life. I always thought high school would be as wonderful as depicted on TV. However, reality is always cruel. The monotony of daily life made it difficult for me to adapt. The most serious problem was that, for someone living away from home for the first time, I missed home terribly. Watching the distant lights, in the quiet night, I could clearly hear my sleeping roommates muttering in their sleep, while I, unable to sleep and missing home, lay in bed crying, feeling homesick… the inner pain, the pressure of grades. In the end, I couldn't overcome my own willpower; I packed my things, left, and went home, quitting school. I hurt my parents' hearts and received their worry and advice, as well as that of my siblings. I returned to high school life. Back in class, the forum was full of messages about my departure. At that moment, I was touched. Even more exaggerated, my deskmate wrote a sort of memorial as if I had passed away. To this day, I still want to hit him. Speaking of him makes me laugh—he is Ji Luo Yan, though he isn't gay. He just has a kind of quirkiness, full of humor... In the first year of high school, my immature self drifted through wasting time and struggling. In the second year, due to my laziness in the first, science subjects were difficult to catch up in, so I chose liberal arts. I fantasized about a romantic chance... but fell into the whirlpool of emotions. Late at night, in the unstoppable darkness, I still couldn't sleep every night. I deeply missed someone and expressed it bit by bit in writing, releasing the overwhelming longing gently. Watching the cold moonlight, I felt indescribable sadness. Did you see the night sky outside, the stars, and my endless longing? My grades were a pain I couldn't shake; seeing them fall short, my heart started to tangle. I looked towards the future until I became a statue, unable to speak or sing, only accompanied and consumed by loneliness. People said I was too quiet, too silent—almost excessively silent. But who knows the confusion and anxiety hidden behind my calm, indifferent expression? I began to think about drinking, attempting to numb my nerves with alcohol. In my second year, I was mostly clueless, alternately diligent and lazy, inserting some music, and that's how it went! What comes will come, as they say—the 'devil' of senior year arrived. It came so lightly and hastily. I became steadier, more mature, more hardworking, and my grades improved. There was much progress. Yet, grades remain a pain I cannot shake. I finally experienced the life of 'devilish' senior year. It's not a contest of physique, but a race against time. More terrifying is the torment of the mind, the kind of maddening mental torture! After the Spring Festival, I heard some bad news. I walked on the street corner of the city in the drizzle, starting my first cigarette in life. Pretending, sad, shedding a man's tears. Flicking the cigarette butt into the night sky without a bit of attention, that kind of pathetic 'nonchalance.' I thought that the moment I learned to smoke, I wouldn't need anyone's comfort. It turned out I was wrong, because youthful sorrow doesn't need cigarettes to fill it. So I gave up childishness, gave up alcohol, quit smoking. Gave up too many frivolous memories related to sorrow. Everything will get better! Things around me always force me to grow up. The three years of high school taught me maturity and strength, but always made me anxious, grades oh grades! Suddenly, I became so scared, so scared... In the end, I still wanted to spend a little time flipping through memories of high school. I will not forget the first boy who made me infatuated. I will not forget the first girl who called me 'dear.' I will not forget the first language teacher who gave me an award. I will not forget the first political teacher who scolded me 'What are you thinking?' because she was worried about my grades... I will not forget classmates, friends, brothers... who threw me birthday parties. Actually, the three years of high school really had so many wonderful memories, it's just that my pen can't depict those beautiful and happy scenes. Thinking of every bit of high school life, no matter what, in these three years there were good and bad times, joy and sorrow... At this moment of impending farewell, allow me to kiss goodbye once more! At the moment the camera closes, allow me to use this messy article to remember my high school. Goodbye, my high school. Goodbye, never to meet again... This summer, I graduated! Yay!!!
