At the beginning of last year, I accidentally entered a gaming forum. It just so happened that the forum was in a state of disrepair and ready to revive its former glory—it was such a good opportunity. The veterans mostly lurked, while a flood of newcomers kept coming.
I remember at that time the number of users online simultaneously was steadily around 1,500, and there were two active clans, but due to the forum owner's leadership, one clan basically dominated. I, a fresh and inexperienced newcomer, naturally joined that super large clan. Starting as an ordinary member, I gradually rose to team leader, then, together with the vice minister, left the clan to form our own faction.
Later, riding on the momentum of our own clan, I even became a super-forum moderator assistant for a short thrill. However, I was driven away by some means.
After that, I had a few clashes with others on the forum. Because I had made quite a few enemies, I was almost banned and had no choice but to disappear for a while, waiting for the storm to pass before returning.
At that time, several members who had grievances against me also chose to go silent due to other disturbances. I took advantage of the situation to expand my influence, making my clan stronger and stronger, until later, we were roughly on equal footing with the leader of my original clan.
Unfortunately, the forum underwent a revamp, all clans were reset, and my account disappeared due to system reasons.
Helpless and disheartened, although I fared better later on 7723, the passion of those past days was gone.
Thinking back to my flashy days lurking around forums back then, sigh, what a pity, I can never get that feeling back.
