“Xia Xia, where did you just go?” Lei Xia laughed: “I went to the kitchen to get some water! Grandma, why are you all wet? Didn't you take an umbrella?” Grandma looked at Lei Xia in disbelief, circling her carefully, then asked: “Nothing happened at home, right?” “Nothing happened! Grandma, what's wrong? Are you not feeling well?” “It's fine, that's good! It's fine, that's good! Go play, I'll go change my clothes!” Lei Xia watched her grandmother's back, quietly and joyfully smiling, her mouth stretching to her ears… “Mom, I'm back!” Second Uncle Lei walked into the yard carrying big and small bags. Seeing Lei Xia coming out of the room, he handed a bag to her: “Xia Xia, Second Uncle bought you some snacks. Take them to your room and eat! Don't let Lei Jie see them; he has sensitive teeth and shouldn't eat sweets!” Lei Xia looked at it but didn't take it, worriedly saying: “Second Uncle, this morning Grandma went to Uncle Zhang's house saying she was checking on Yong Wa, and it's already four in the afternoon, and she still hasn't come back! Grandma wouldn't let me go out, can you go check?” “Okay, I'll go check, you stay inside!” Second Uncle Lei also became anxious, so caught up in worry that he didn't notice the faint smile beneath Lei Xia's concern. He turned, bent over to place the items by the door, and before he could even let go, let out a muffled groan and collapsed to the ground. Lei Xia threw the blood-stained game console aside, closed the yard gate, kicked Second Uncle Lei who was fainted on the ground, and hissed angrily: “You tried to kill me! You tried to force me to take medicine! Hmph!” She brushed the hair scattered across her forehead, lifted him onto a cart she had prepared earlier, and pushed him into the corridor… By the dry well, Grandma lay with her eyes tightly shut at the edge. Second Uncle Lei tumbled off the cart next to her, smiling with satisfaction, leaning on the well edge and softly calling out: “Are you there? I've brought them all, can you come out now?” A tiny dark face suddenly rose from the bottom of the well, the tip of its nose nearly touching Lei Xia. But Lei Xia showed no hint of fear; instead, she smiled happily, reaching out to touch the dark face, wiping away the deep green moss that had clung to it for years. Beneath the moss was a beautiful, clean little face, with a slightly upturned nose, full lips, and big round eyes… a face extremely similar to Lei Xia's, only looking much younger, about seven or eight years old.
