On the afternoon of May 24, in response to media reports that Nokia would abandon the Symbian platform early, Nokia reiterated its support for the Symbian system on Weibo and will support it until 2016. There are media reports today that Symbian's life will be ended early. But this claim was denied by Nokia. Nokia said on Weibo that Nokia's commitment to the Symbian platform has not changed. Over the past 12 months, we have launched a number of new Symbian smartphones, including the recent award-winning Nokia 808 PureView. We have also brought a number of Symbian system upgrades, including NFC functionality, Microsoft mobile Office applications, and support for the latest Dolby Audio technology. In fact, we will have more Symbian system updates available in the coming weeks. As we promised before, we will continue to support Symbian through 2016.
