Finally figured it out
I have always wondered why Sun Wukong can cause havoc in the Heavenly Palace, but he often cannot defeat the monsters on the road. Why does he still need Guanyin to save him? I recently figured it out: the people I met during the Uprising in Heaven were all working for the Jade Emperor, and they were hardworking but not life-threatening; the people I met along the way were all self-starters, so they were more desperate!
