Typhoon 'Wesley', the 8th typhoon of the year, made landfall yesterday at 4:15 a.m. in the coastal area of Chixi Town, Taishan City, Jiangmen, our province, with maximum wind force of 13 near the center at landfall. After making landfall, 'Wesley' crossed western Guangdong at a speed of about 20 kilometers per hour toward the northwest. By 4 p.m., the center moved into Rong County, Guangxi, with maximum wind force of 8, having weakened to a tropical storm.
