When the three of them rushed to the edge of Thousand Tears Lake, quite a few elves had already gathered. Some were terrified, some were praying, all with indescribable expressions on their faces.
“The High Priest has arrived, everyone make way!” someone shouted, and immediately the elves scattered to the sides as if struck by a sudden thunderclap. The three solemn Tibeas approached.
Although Tibeas was quite cheeky in front of his sister and Uncle Nino, in front of other tribe members, he still had a commanding presence.
But today, he could not assert his dominance at all; he only glanced at Thousand Tears Lake and screamed before fainting.
The lake, which used to be crystal clear, had now become a sea of blood, reeking of gore, with occasional limbs and organs drifting down from upstream—it looked human.
In an instant, Thousand Tears Lake had become a scene of death, revealing its terrifying and gruesome side.
Latis, supporting his fainted brother, remembered that he had been drinking this water just moments ago, felt a wave of nausea, and vomited.
Uncle Nino looked solemnly toward the upstream of Thousand Tears Lake. Although it was near the human royal city of Riga, this human unrest could not possibly be the cause of such a scene.
“Elder…” an elf timidly approached Uncle Nino upon seeing the High Priest faint, “w-what… should we do?”
Uncle Nino was the elder of the elf tribe and the youngest of them all. But even as an elder, he seemed lacking in presence. Of course, even less presentable was the fainted High Priest.
“The Elf King must already know about this. I need to go and consult with her. Make sure the other elves don't panic!”
“I want to go too, I really can't stand this!” Latis said, dropping his brother and running off.
“Then… what about the High Priest?”
“Kick him awake!”
“Oh… huh?”
“Kick him awake!”
The elf royal city, at the southernmost tip of the Qingkui Continent, is called Jinghua City. It is widely regarded as the most beautiful city on the Rīga Continent. Entering the city gate felt like stepping into a paradise on earth—mist swirling, vibrant greenery, and lush trees interweaving. Beautiful and elegant elves wandered amidst flowers and foliage, exuding exceptional grace.
The elf tribe has lived in harmony with nature for generations, and even their royal city blends perfectly with the natural environment.
Nino and the two others headed straight toward the royal palace.Tibias walked while wiping his dripping wet hair, looking at the two moving ahead with a face full of grievance.
Of course, the elves didn't dare kick him; they only asked him to take a cold water shower.
Since the demon tribe was officially led by the elves and the elven kingdom was established, the ancestral system of the elves had changed. The saintess was no longer chosen to be sent to guard the gods on Mount Kazak, but was instead trained as the heir to the elven king. To avoid angering the gods, they specifically set up priests proficient in divine prophecy to appease them.
Legend has it that this elven king had a beauty second only to the goddess Reiga and was the most outstanding genius in the history of the elven race. Stories about her were widely talked about not only among demons but also among humans and other magical beings.
At the gates of the palace, an elven guard stood on each side and politely bowed to the three of them: "The elven king and the elders are waiting in a meeting. Please follow!"
The two were both archers, each carrying a small, exquisite bow on their back. Each of them was as beautiful as Latis.
"Not as tall as my sister, and not as well-endowed as my sister! But completely qualified as a girlfriend," Tibias said, staring directly at the two. This earned him a harsh hit from Latis.
Walking along a path lined with birch trees, the three finally stopped in front of a millennia-old tree. The ancient tree was nearly a hundred meters tall, its lush canopy covering half of the palace. The trunk was also almost a hundred meters in diameter, hollowed out in the middle, with a wooden door carved with ornate patterns covering the opening.
"What a waste!" Tibias exclaimed again, and Latis beside him nodded in agreement.
Uncle Nino pushed open the door and stepped inside. A long table was placed in the center, with elders seated on both sides. At the far right end of the table, in a seat of its own, sat the elven king—Lofugale.
