Disclaimer: This image is not my original work; it was taken from Baidu Tieba. I spent almost half a morning playing this map, and I feel that it's a good 1v1 map. Here's a brief introduction.
The red and blue teams: the blue team has two forts and two leaders. There are four attack routes, which can coordinate with water-elemental battles, or the main leader can lead archers to charge from the bridge. Then you can use the starting skeletons to block and delay, trying to gain attack and defense time. With two leaders, you can either split forces along two routes or have both attack the same route, depending on the player's choice.
The red team starts with six stones and an income of 400. Surrounded on all sides, it seems hopeless, but its terrain is advantageous. Combined with stone placements, defense is not a problem at all. You can steadily build up and once the income is stable, launch a counterattack.
I played this on platform 1.2, and the stone upgrades were incredibly fast! Just one hit and it levels up, and before you know it, it becomes a Titan. The stone's base defense is 30; placing it on a building, you can slowly fortify. At level 5, the defense jumps to 55, while a normal archer or soldier at level 1 only has 55–57 attack. So playing blue on 1.2 is rather challenging! After all, the AI experience in 1.2 is 1.5 times that of our players!
I am currently playing this map as the blue team; I recommend it to fans of Age of Empires. Starting as blue gives 500 gold and 20 population.

The Gold Edition has severe data imbalance, so I just played through the storyline with the Gold Edition and then didn't play it anymore.
