Biting ghosts is a real thing, believe it or not; that night I had just finished taking a shower, around 12 o'clock, and my family was already asleep. In rural areas, people basically watch the evening news, then a few episodes of a TV drama, and then rest, usually around 9 o'clock. I originally wanted to go to bed early, as I had a math exam the next day and did not want to ruin my strong subjects; but a few fellow villagers insisted on playing the card game "Shengji," and I had no choice but to play until 12, then returned home amid a barrage of verbal attacks.
After taking a shower, lying in bed, sleepiness immediately came over me. Soon my eyes couldn't stay open, my mind began to blur, and the night was completely silent.
But before my eyes fully closed, I felt a white figure drifting in from the window. It looked like white smoke, entering through the mosquito screen. At first, I thought it was a moonbeam, but the white figure floated right in front of me. In an instant, a cold chill rushed from my feet to my head, and my body broke out in a cold sweat.
