Boundless sky and sea

Today I watch the snow float by on a cold night— (Ten years ago, they had ideals, yet the commercial society could not allow them to fully showcase their talents, only the pursuit of money. Even in the scorching summer, their ideals went unrecognized, and even in the heat, it felt like a cold night) Holding their cooled hearts, drifting to the distance— (The neglected ideals were their world; who could understand that cold, wounded heart gradually drifting with the wind, alone and unsupported) Chasing in wind and rain, lost in the mist, the sky and sea are vast, will you and I change (who doesn't change)— (No matter the difficulties, they pressed on through wind and rain, no matter success or failure, they moved forward bravely. Beyond who held ideals, and we as well, are all struggling!) How many times facing cold stares and ridicule, they never gave up on their ideals— (In 1983, they were called a commercial band, always waiting for people to leave halfway through concerts. In 1986, at a Taiwan concert, someone threw bottles at them, but Beyond did not fall. What did these small things matter? In 1991, at the Life Contact concert, how many people shouted and sang along with Beyond, making gestures of peace and love?) For a fleeting moment of confusion, a sense of loss, unknowingly fading, in my heart love (who understands me)— (They were not without hesitation. They knew that choosing music meant giving up certain things! Jiayou and Paul even had to sacrifice their own love for their dreams) Forgive me for this wild and free life, but I also fear that one day I might fall, and if ideals are abandoned, anyone could do it, I would fear that one day there would be only you with me— (Because of ideals, Jiayou lost too much, even his life. Jiayou once said: “Freedom is my wish” — to write songs without constraints, without caring about sales, it was his dream, and also Beyond's dream. Even if one day only ideals and he remained, it would not matter. As long as ideals exist, anything can be overcome!
