It seems that the Dark Ruler Xyz cannot be activated if there are fewer than four monsters, and it cannot be used as a tribute; if it dies, it disappears without going to the graveyard. The graveyard cannot satisfy the five-monster requirement, and supplementing pieces cannot be activated. Alright, so it's basically like the Dark Ruler Xyz and the supplements are nullified.
