The god of love, Cupid, is so ethereal. We are ordinary people; we shouldn't pray to be able to receive love without doing anything. Only through effort can we obtain what we truly want. But today, what I want to talk about is not the love of romance, but the love of care.

In recent years, a gradually stronger China has suffered numerous hardships: the Great Flood of 1998, the SARS outbreak in 2003, the snowstorm disaster in the south in 2008, and the Wenchuan earthquake. Each of these events remains vividly in people's memories. Citizens across the country contributed in various ways and ultimately overcame these disasters.

During the summer of 1998, during the great floods, we could see soldiers everywhere along the Yangtze River. They always appeared wherever there was a disaster, using their own bodies to build indestructible dikes on both sides of the Yangtze, protecting everyone's happy life. Many heroes gave their precious lives; the soldiers defined their love for the people of the motherland through their actions.

In 2003, when the SARS virus ravaged China, medical personnel disregarded their own safety. They went wherever the situation was the most severe, and many medical workers even fell at their posts. They defined what love is with their lives.

In 2008, the major snow and ice disaster in the south left hundreds of thousands stranded in stations and brought city power grids to paralysis. The people across the country extended their helping hands. Several workers staying at their posts to restore electricity lost their youth to their duties, singing their songs of love. In the end, the people of the nation united to overcome the snow and ice disaster.

The Wenchuan earthquake on May 12 turned Wenchuan into ruins, touching the hearts of people nationwide. Soldiers, firefighters, and doctors braved aftershocks to enter the disaster area and carry out rescues. People from all over extended helping hands—some donated money and supplies, some spontaneously organized rescue teams, and some quietly prayed for the disaster victims. With the help of the nationwide people, the victims rebuilt their homes. Each time I see these, I feel like crying.

I still remember the lyrics: 'Everyone gives a little love, and the world will become a beautiful place.' As long as we have love in our hearts, we can face all difficulties calmly. As long as we have love in our hearts, each of us is a god of love. The sons and daughters of China are writing legendary tales of love through their actions.
