Chapter Thirteen: I Sell Art, Not My Body; I Would Rather Die Than Submit.
Just as Yu Shengjun bent down to help Fengdie Wu up, Fengdie Wu glanced at him with slightly frightened eyes, immediately stood up, covered her arms, and ran away. After running three to four meters, she turned back to look at Yu Shengjun once more. In that glance, she revealed the concerns of a young woman.
Fengdie Wu originally had a beauty capable of toppling kingdoms, a rare and exquisite charm. When her phoenix-like eyes turned, in Yu Shengjun's eyes, they imprinted the charm of a smile that could captivate all.
Watching the retreating figure, Yu Shengjun could never take his eyes off her, even though the silhouette had long disappeared from his dark eyes.
Yu Zichen noticed the reluctance in Yu Shengjun's expression and couldn't help but curl his lips into a confident smile. He lightly opened his lips, and the curve at the corners disappeared. "Your Majesty, what are you looking at?"
Suddenly, the complex emotions in Yu Shengjun's eyes were covered, and he said calmly, "Nothing. Let's go look at other places!"
"Mm," Yu Zichen replied lightly, then followed behind Yu Shengjun as they resumed walking. However, an unusually cunning smile appeared on Yu Zichen's face, thinking that Yu Shengjun must have been flustered by Fengdie Wu's run and that glance back. Besides corrupt officials, nothing messes with Yu Shengjun's mind like a woman.
It seems these two... might have a chance!
Who knows how long he had been running, until utterly exhausted, the thug collapsed in a dead-end alley. He thought Tang Lin wouldn't find him in the dead-end, but as he stuck out his tongue, gasping for breath, Tang Lin walked in front of him calmly, her clean and refreshing features always carrying a smile like a spring breeze. "Hello, can you return my money bag now?"
The thug realized it was Tang Lin, pinched his features together, and obediently handed over the money bag. "Heroine, you're amazing. I give up. Take it, I don't have the strength to run anymore!"
"That's better," the thug's surrender gave Tang Lin a touch of favorability. She took the money bag from the thug, opened it, and saw that there were only a dozen copper coins inside. The hoodlum had regained some strength and stood up, moving closer to Tang Lin. He carefully examined her military uniform, her cap, her boots, as well as her clean and delicate, picturesque face, and couldn't help but praise, "I say, lady hero, what kind of fairy are you? Look at how you're dressed, what you're wearing, hehe, how extraordinary it is." Just as he was about to reach out to touch Tang Lin's clothes, his hand was swatted away by her.
Tang Lin glared at him angrily, "Hands off, step back!"
"Yes!" The hoodlum responded heavily, with a voice as forceful as when Tang Lin had once spoken in front of the instructors. He then obeyed her words and stepped back a little, but his admiring look never faded. "Hehe, lady hero, you're really beautiful, especially in this outfit, so spirited!"
Tang Lin shot him a glance, "Stop babbling," then circled around the hoodlum, her sharp eyes scrutinizing him continuously.
Hmm, handsome features, not bad. Height is right, posture straight, has potential. The voice is strong, though a bit rowdy, still has a good face. The fact that she chased him for so long shows good stamina, good running skills too.
The hoodlum felt a shiver as she examined him, couldn't help but rub his hair-bristled arms, his gaze constantly wary of Tang Lin. "Lady hero, I've already returned your money pouch, what more do you want?"
Tang Lin rolled her eyes at him, "I'm not going to eat you, so what are you afraid of?"
But at this moment, her gaze fell on his neck.
The hoodlum immediately crossed his hands over his chest, raised his mouth, and dragged out a long sound, "Eh, what kind of look is that? Feels like I'm your appetizer. Let me tell you, I perform for a living, I don't sell my body. I'd rather die than comply! Lady hero, no matter how skilled you are, you can't force me!"
