Tips and Insights on the Game Overlord's Continent
Considering future needs and visitors, I won't hide it~ =_=\ Actually, I'm talking about the FC version, so there might be some differences\ The Continent of Overlords isn't difficult, BT version is too easy and boring\ I'll talk about common situations:\ In the beginning, money and supplies are really a problem, but before April, try to get Lu Bu! That's the main money and supply issue. My idea is to first check the nearby empty cities, then move a general who can reach there to the empty city. For those who can't move there, use a city battle to retreat to an empty city, then take all the money and supplies and retreat to the empty city again. Repeat this. Recently, when one military order needs to return to your own city, that way you will have some money and supplies.\ Surely everyone has experienced this: the enemy attacks our city, we are outnumbered, and we can't retreat. In this case, there are only 2 ways to save your general from dying:\ 1. Stay far away from the city so the enemy general occupies it, our general resigns, then later you can find them from nearby cities (except the ruler, resigning won't kill them)\ 2. Provoke the enemy for a duel, surrender, then reclaim them later.\ Of course, if confident, you can just eliminate the enemy's main general directly. It saves time and effort.\ Another thing is how to capture generals like Zhuge Liang or Zhou Yu.\ This is a bit tricky. First, set up a 'U'-shaped city formation. In short, you want them to go without returning. Then with war and surrender, give them money and supplies. After that, position weak forces at the opening of the 'U' (but using strong generals), and occasionally harass them (this means retreating after war). Soon, they will attack you with troops. Check if there's anyone you want. If they retreat, and the defense fails. After the retreat, send troops from the left or right to capture the enemy's rear cities, then hold them. Finally, check the defending enemy general. If it's a fool or one you don't want, destroy the supplies or kill the governor. If it's one you want, assign a regular army as the commander, then use it as bait, keeping it moving without fighting, depleting their supplies. The more troops they have, the better; your army doesn't need troops, just 1 supply. If you have no troops, it won't consume supplies. After victory, search around and you can find the general.\ Okay, that's it for now. Ask me if you don't understand (I also know how to control enemy generals in battle, but it's FC version, and considering the gameplay longevity, I won't explain)\ Hope this helps you.
