\Movie Overview\Between the sky and the earth lies a mysterious and dangerous kingdom, home to a clan of fearsome giants who are waiting for the opportunity to conquer the human world. On a stormy night, the lost Princess Isabel stumbles into the home of farm worker Jack (played by Nicholas Hoult). Jack tells Isabel the legends his father told him as a child, and the two enjoy a lively conversation, sharing their desire for adventure. Suddenly, a massive plant bursts from a hole in his floor, rapidly growing into the sky. The princess disappears with it, and Jack faints. This towering beanstalk becomes a gateway connecting the giants' kingdom and the human world. For the first time in centuries, the giants have the chance to launch an attack and reclaim human lands. King Brahwell (played by Ian McShane) orders Captain of the Guard Elmont (played by Ewan McGregor) to lead an elite force to rescue the princess. Jack volunteers to accompany them.
