(img) On February 19, the HTC One flagship smartphone officially debuted in New York. This phone has upgraded overall performance and features several new capabilities, particularly significant improvements in mobile photography. HTC once again proved its strength in the Android smartphone camp with the HTC One.
The HTC One uses a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, offering stronger performance compared to last year's globally first quad-core smartphone, the HTC One X. In addition, it is equipped with a 4.7-inch 1080p full HD display (with clarity increased to 468 dpi, reinforced with Gorilla Glass 2), has 2GB of memory, runs the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system, and uses the latest HTC Sense UI 5.0 interface. Unlike the previous HTC One X which used a polycarbonate body, the new HTC One features an aluminum unibody, yet it is still quite light at only 143 grams. Its dimensions are 137.4×68.2×9.3mm, which is not much wider than the One X, while the body is slightly longer. The phone's thickness is 9.3mm, similar to the BlackBerry Z10. This slim and compact body houses a 2300mAh lithium battery, supports WiFi a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, HSPA and LTE networks, and comes with 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. Additionally, the HTC One uses a one-piece back cover design, meaning the battery is not replaceable.
In the uniquely advantageous area of photography, the HTC One has undergone a comprehensive upgrade. The front camera is 2 megapixels with an 88-degree wide-angle lens, capable of shooting 1080p high-definition video. On the back, the HTC One is equipped with a 12-megapixel f/2.0 UltraPixel main camera, featuring a 4-megapixel BSI sensor, which is much stronger than mainstream sensors currently found in smartphones. The main camera also has optical image stabilization, supports HDR photography and HDR video recording, and can shoot full 1080p HD video at 60fps. Additionally, the HTC One introduces a new function called Zoe, which helps users capture and share short clips similar to Vine.
The HTC One also enhances multimedia performance and social features. In addition to Beats audio, the phone is equipped with dual stereo speakers, supports the advanced mobile calling system (amps), and delivers audio output quality comparable to wired headphones.This device also features the brand new BlinkFeed home screen by default, which can consolidate a cluttered desktop into a separate personal information stream, displaying the latest social updates, news, entertainment and lifestyle information, photos, and more.
