The only way to reach the two locations is via the 'Fall' that passes through the Earth's core. The Colony's rebels and the Federation's forces are in constant conflict over the scarce land resources on Earth. The protagonist is an ordinary worker from The Colony who commutes daily through the Fall to the Federation's mechanical police factory. He keeps having the same dream at the same time — he and a girl are being chased, as if involved in some secret mission. This dream continues to trouble him until one day a colleague at the factory tells him that the Rekall memory company can answer all his questions. When he goes to Rekall, he discovers that he is actually a double agent named Carl Hauser, whose memories were erased. When he returns home, he finds that his wife has been a spy placed to monitor him, and his dream was not a dream but a memory. The rebels are not traitors; they are fighting for the freedom of the people of The Colony. Eventually, he finds the girl from his dreams — the daughter of Masiasse, the rebel leader. In the end, Federation Prime Minister Cohaagen decides to lead the mechanical police to attack The Colony, and the protagonist, together with the rebel leader's daughter, destroys the Fall, stopping the Prime Minister's conspiracy.\Personal Review:\Most American mainstream movies are essentially centered on individual heroism, and this film is no exception. The protagonist's anti-hero journey is also quite legendary… The overall feel of the film is very perfect, from the towering futuristic buildings to the silver-armored robotic police, excellently illustrating the essence of sci-fi. The special effects are flawless, especially in the final part when the protagonist fights boldly against high-tech aircraft; the explosions and action sequences are absolutely thrilling.\However, some scenes feel like a video game. In the first half of the film, the protagonist takes out dozens of special forces soldiers in a single room, giving a definite 'Splinter Cell'-like vibe.As for the plot of the movie, it's relatively decent. There's no way around it; I think the plots of American sci-fi films aren't very complicated. However, overall, the film definitely showcases its high production quality. It's definitely an excellent sci-fi movie.
