\ In a large lake called Yanpingjin (present-day Yichun in Jiangxi), a young white dragon suddenly appeared. This white dragon was beautiful and kind, calling forth wind and rain for the people. The once barren and poor county gradually experienced favorable weather and abundant harvests, and the county's name changed from 'Poverty City' to 'Fengcheng' (Prosperous City). However, the locals often noticed that this white dragon gazed at the lake almost every day, as if waiting for something, and some even saw tears in its eyes.\ Six hundred years passed. By chance, Lei Huan, the magistrate of Fengcheng County, unearthed a stone box while repairing the city walls. Inside was a sword, on which the characters 'Ganjiang' were clearly inscribed. Overjoyed, Lei Huan carried this long-renowned famous sword with him. One day, as Lei Huan passed by Lake Yanpingjin, the sword at his waist suddenly leapt from its scabbard into the water. As Lei Huan was astonished, the water churned and two dragons, one black and one white, leapt out. The two dragons nodded repeatedly to Lei Huan in gratitude. Then, the dragons' necks entwined affectionately as they intertwined, and both submerged into the water, disappearing from sight. The local people, who had lived in Fengcheng for generations, noticed that the white dragon, which had been gazing tearfully at the lake for over six hundred years, had suddenly vanished. The next day, a humble young couple moved into the county. The husband was an excellent blacksmith with extraordinary skill, but he devoted himself only to forging ordinary farm tools that earned little money, refusing to make weapons that could sell for a fortune. While he worked, his young wife would always be by his side, fanning him and wiping his sweat.
