In modern society, humans and Pokémon coexist. Humans live harmoniously with them, and there are many professions related to Pokémon, such as breeders and trainers. Normally, Pokémon can be shrunk and stored in a ball called a Poké Ball, carried by trainers on their person or kept in a pocket, giving Pokémon their name.
The story's protagonist is a Pokémon trainer who aims to become the best trainer and embarks on a journey of challenging battles with other trainers. Various interesting events occur along the way, and the protagonist meets many good friends. Together, they strive to become excellent trainers.
The main storyline involves Team Rocket attempting to seize the Life Gem of Arceus to awaken the ancient legendary Pokémon, and the protagonist becomes caught up in a series of events.
The game engine is based on the usual Ruby series engine, with many improvements to the storyline. The art style has not changed much, but the character designs have been significantly adjusted, making the characters appear more chibi-like.
