The long wait is over! Developer War Balloon has announced that their repeatedly delayed sci-fi simulation game 'Star Command' will first launch on May 2 on iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad, with the Android version following shortly after. The game is priced at $2.99, safe and free of in-app purchases.
Unlike romantic space sci-fi games such as 'Halo' and 'Mass Effect,' 'Star Command' takes a relatively realistic approach. In the game, you will build a spaceship, manage the hiring of crew members, and handle specific onboard structures like the engine room, medical station, and shield generators. Then, you will pilot the ship to explore the entire galaxy and interact with various alien species. The game's hard sci-fi quality makes it sound like a space version of 'Age of Discovery' while also reminiscent of the classic sci-fi TV series 'Star Trek.'
Besides being able to assign your crew members to different rooms on the spaceship and arranging them to handle various ship emergencies or fend off invading aliens, another feature that attracts players is the addition of a sandbox mode, combining space exploration and simulation management, with content and details that are highly anticipated. Fans of such sci-fi works should definitely not miss it.
