Regarding questions about Journey to the West, newbie posting!
The TV version of Journey to the West says that the White Dragon was banished because his fiancée, Princess Wansheng, cheated on him with the Nine-Headed Bug, and in anger, he accidentally burned the Jade Emperor's gift, the Night Pearl. In the original work, it seems the White Dragon had nothing to do with Princess Wansheng, who was actually the Nine-Headed Bug's wife! So how was the White Dragon banished in the original? I just saw on TV that the White Dragon ate the white horse at Eagle Mourning Ravine, and with the Nine-Headed Bug being so formidable, what was his ending? Where did he escape to? How did he get on good terms with the Bull Demon King? \ Apparently, he was eaten by the Howling Celestial Dog, leaving just his head.
