The Primordial Era was the prehistoric era. In that era, there were no written records of the lives of the ancestors, so later generations often relied on imagination, legends, and myths to understand it. In modern times, due to the development of prehistory, archaeology, anthropology, and geology, a rough understanding of the Primordial Era has been inferred. This has given rise to the concept of the Primordial Era in Chinese mythology. Works such as *Records of the Thick and Dark Dao of Immortals*, *Rebirth of the Primordial Dao*, and *Buddha Was Dao* are the pioneering masterpieces of modern Primordial Era novels.

In Primordial Era novels,\the heavens and the earth opened and formed separate clans.\At the beginning of chaos, all living things did not exist. "The number of the Great Development is fifty, its use is forty-nine," this is the way of Heaven; when Heaven loses one, it is called a thread of life. The Way of Heaven is changeable, ruthless, embracing all things yet detached from them. It has no good or evil, no right or wrong, no gratitude or resentment, no joy or sorrow. Hongjun embodies the [Dao].\
(Twelve Ancestral Witches: Dijang, Gonggong, Zhurong, Rushou, Goumang, Houtu, Xuanming, Qiangliang, Shebishi, Zhujiuyin, Tianwu, Yanzi)\
During the first calamity of Longhan, the three clans of dragons, phoenixes, and qilin waged war. Hongjun defeated Luohou on Mount Sumeru. The Heavenly Emperor Dijun and the Eastern Emperor Taiyi led the ancient demon clans to establish the Heavenly Court. The Twelve Ancestral Witches managed the six realms of reincarnation under the Ancestral Witches of Houtu, established the rules of the earth. The essence blood of Pangu in the six realms of reincarnation attaches to the soul of humans and demon clans and is reborn, naturally possessing divine powers, becoming Great Witches and forming the Witch Clan.

Around the six realms of reincarnation, since the opening of chaos, Hell and the Yellow Springs were formed, including the Nether Blood Sea. In the Nether Blood Sea, a placenta was naturally nurtured, which later became the Patriarch of the River of the Dead (or Elder Patriarch of the River of the Dead), possessing great divine powers and creating the Asura clan, with several main disciples: Zizhentian Poxun, Yusetiantian, Dabrahma, and Shiva. Because the Witch Clan was powerful, the Asura clan did not leave the Blood Sea and cultivated themselves in seclusion.

Witch-Demon War and the Rise of Humans\Gonggong and Zhurong fought fiercely at Mount Buzhou, both suffering injuries. In anger, Gonggong struck Mount Buzhou, breaking the Heavenly Pillar. Nüwa repaired the sky with five-colored stones (a piece of which fell to the Primordial Era and became Sun Wukong). Later, the ten sons of the Heavenly Emperor broke Heaven's rules. The Eastern Emperor punished them lightly. The Great Witch Kua Fu was dissatisfied and attempted to chase the sun. Dijun's ten sons killed Kua Fu. The Great Witch Hou Yi was enraged, gathering his tribe and using various secret techniques of the Witch Clan to shoot nine Golden Crow suns with arrows. Hou Yi was later killed by many demon gods. Dijun's tenth son captured the essences of Kua Fu and Hou Yi in a gourd, known as the Celestial-Beheading Flying Knife. (In the Investiture of the Gods battle, Dijun's tenth son transformed into Master Luya and shone brilliantly.)After Hou Luya did not concern himself with worldly matters, he roamed freely through the Three Realms, cultivating Dao on Kunlun. When incarnated as Master Wuchao, he meditated quietly on Mount Futu, ignoring worldly affairs. This led to the War between the Witches and the Demons. The Witch Clan had the remaining Ten Ancestral Witches, while the Demon Clan had the Heavenly Emperor Dijun and Donghuang Taiyi. After this battle, Dijun and Taiyi were killed, and the Ten Ancestral Witches were also injured. Several ancient demons perished, the remaining ones either hid or submitted to the Daoists (such as the Jie Sect founded by Lingbao Daojun, who was honored as the Tongtian Sect Leader). The Witch Clan was weakened but controlled the Six Paths of Reincarnation. Although the Demon Clan was also weakened, its power remained strong.

Afterwards, the Chan Sect (founded by Yuanshi Tianzun, whose disciples included Yun Zhongzi and the Twelve Golden Immortals) and the Jie Sect (whose senior disciples included Daobao Daoist, Wudang Shengmu, etc.) rose up. Jie Daoist practiced as a monk and established the Western Sect with Jie Daoist as the sect leader and Zhunti Daoist as the second sect leader. The Nine Li Tribe's Chiyou, using the tribe's strength, used the Witch Clan's secret techniques to create the Datianshen Sha Array, but the Human Sect grew powerful. Xuanyuan studied under Guangchengzi (the head of the Twelve Golden Immortals of the Chan Sect). Guangchengzi assisted Xuanyuan in killing Chiyou and annihilating his tribe, following which Xuanyuan became the Human Emperor. Later, Xuanyuan's grandson, Zhuanxu, also injured the Witch Clan leader Jiufeng and destroyed his Witch Clan.

At this point, the Witch Clan disbanded, and though occasionally great witches appeared, they never regained prominence. After Dijun was injured, the Three Purities appointed the youths around Hongjun as the Jade Emperor of Heaven (Haotian) and the Queen Mother of the West (Yaoxi).

Following this was the Investiture of the Gods. Laozi (the Supreme Elder Lord) and Yuanshi Tianzun, together with outsiders (two saints from the West who were homosexual), completely destroyed Tongtian's Jie Sect, and Zhunti led away three thousand disciples (all mentally corrupted), such as: Kong Xuan (later the Buddhist Peacock King), Lingya Xian (one of the Three Great Kings of Shituo Ridge), Jingu Xian (the one for whom Buddha gave Guanyin three hoops), Jin Guang Xian (the Golden-Haired Howler used as a mount by Guanyin; it is said that Manjushri Bodhisattva's castrated Shili King was also among them).

As for Daobao, that was entirely orchestrated by the Supreme Elder Lord. Originally intending to divide the fortune of the Western Sect, the two Western homosexual saints renamed the Western Sect to Buddhism, separating it from Daoism, and Daobao also betrayed the Jie Sect, being appointed the leader of Buddhism by those two saints (Daobao Rulai Buddha). (PS: The Dingguang Huanxi Buddha who founded the Joyful Zen sect was the fleeing Long-Eared Dingguang Xian in battle).
