This v1.75 is the latest version, P.I.P.S.–PIPS is the abbreviation of POSIX on Symbian OS. By providing a standard POSIX C application programming interface (API) for the Symbian operating system, PIPS helps C program developers easily integrate existing middleware and applications from commercial applications or open source code into the Symbian operating system.
This porting has been accomplished by providing C and C program developers with a new architecture for the POSIX C API. The new API is packaged in various industry standard resource libraries, including libc, libm, libpthread and libdl, and is closely integrated with the Symbian operating system to optimize system performance and memory usage. Additionally, improved toolchains will help further ease porting efforts.

POSIX repository is a natural development of the Symbian operating system extension.
