A friend of mine, a few years ago, went into business with partners. Their cargo ship was caught in a storm and capsized, and all of their wealth and dreams sank to the bottom of the sea. He couldn't bear the blow and became dispirited and absent-minded from then on. When he saw another person who had gone through the same misfortune living life fully, he asked him how. That person said, 'You curse, you grieve, and the days pass one by one; you rejoice, you are happy, and the days also pass one by one. Which do you choose?'
This is how people are: when you build the future with an open, optimistic, and upward-looking attitude, brightness appears before you; on the contrary, when your mind is trapped in the cage of sorrow, the future becomes dim. If this continues, you won't just lose your most basic faith and courage to strive, but you will also lose the nearest and truest joys around you. For everyone, those joys, as abundant as the air around us, are the most important. They form the most real and reliable links in the chain of our lives. If you let them slip away, link by link, how can laughter continue?
A poem says: 'When you know and cherish it, the flowers strive to bloom; when you are unaware and disdainful, the flowers still strive to bloom.' Yes, flowers always strive to bloom, and beautiful days pass one by one. Whether you should happily spend each day or painfully endure each day is entirely up to you.
