In Japan, the Dragon Quest series has long been known as the "national RPG." The subtitle of this game perfectly reflects the grand adventure within, as the hero, along with the king and princess, sets out to rescue the cursed kingdom. DQ8 adopts a fully 3D format, third-person perspective in battles, and introduces new systems such as charging, alchemy, and skill systems, launching on the PS2 platform. The following year, the released North American version included additional languages to better present the game's intricate storyline to players.\ The Dragon Quest series (hereafter referred to as DQ) is a super RPG masterpiece series known as Japan's "national RPG." It has set the standard for typical Japanese RPGs, often mentioned alongside the Final Fantasy series as the two iconic Japanese RPG series. Since the release of the first DQ game, each installment has sold over a million copies. The PS release of "Dragon Quest VII" achieved an outstanding sales record of 3.89 million copies.\ The PS2 release of "Dragon Quest VIII" continues the series' tradition, with famous manga artist Akira Toriyama (famous for Dragon Ball) handling character designs and LEVEL-5 responsible for development. As for the 3D version, the visuals have improved greatly, characters are clear, and battle scenes look cool (even if it's just flying over to land a hit -_-||). Different weapons are also visible on the hero. Overall, it's much better than DQ4. The only downside for me is that with 3D graphics, when the map is large, my phone slows down (really puts the phone's GPU to the test ^T^).
