+Story Synopsis The Martin family bought a robot to serve as their butler, but Mr. Martin soon discovered that this robot, named Andrew, not only had extraordinary creativity but could even express emotions. When the news came, Andrew passed away peacefully... || +Thoughts on the Movie Actually, when I first watched this movie, I didn't feel very deeply about it. 'Bicentennial Man' doesn't have the extraordinarily flashy special effects of Hollywood blockbusters, the heart-pounding battle scenes, or the suspenseful life-and-death moments; it could be said that there is nothing particularly outstanding. But watching the film as a whole makes people feel very warm and peaceful. The early part of the film basically tells the various stories happening in a family, sometimes ordinary, sometimes sad, sometimes funny, sometimes lonely. But it was precisely this unique plot that made me want to continue watching. So, as I followed the story deeper, I increasingly felt the extraordinary nature of this movie. Unable to cry when sad and unable to laugh when happy, Andrew, with his cold steel exterior, deeply felt the repression of emotion within his heart and could not vent it. The loss of emotion led him to begin to seek and obtain rights like a normal human. Thus, he said goodbye to the master with whom he had deep emotional bonds and embarked on that special path, one that belonged only to him. From here, I felt the film truly began to reach its climax. Later, Andrew experienced unavoidable separations and deaths; the masters who had lived happily with him, including the 'Second Miss,' one by one left him. What he felt inside, at that time, I could not have guessed. He finally understood that the meaning of life for humans often depends on time, and that human lifespan is ultimately just about one hundred years.But he had an endless amount of time, so he was unable to understand the meaning of life. Therefore, he chose to face death. By the end of the film, Andrew not only gained family love, romantic love, and friendship, but also, in the final moments of his life, received recognition from human society, experiencing the essence of human life and the near perfection of being human.
