I'm in exactly the same situation. During the newbie period when creating an account, the pile of diamonds given didn't even yield a single purple after at least 2000 draws. I really don't know what level of luck someone must have to get 3 purples in a row. Yesterday I saved up 1,200 draws and got 5 pulls, 15 heroes, and 3 purples, so I recommend saving up more and then pulling all at once, otherwise it's really heartbreaking to watch.
