\Let's start with Baron
1. When the enemy starts Baron, if your jungler's task is to steal it when it's almost dead, then your task is to hard-control the enemy jungler when Baron is at low HP.
2. The higher the rank, the earlier Baron will be attempted. Early Baron steals require the front line to have magic resistance, as Baron deals magic damage.
3. When starting a fight in the jungle, attack while healing, attack while placing wards, especially for supports.
4. If the enemy has Stopwatch, Guardian Angel, or Pantheon jumps in, can Caitlyn land a trap? The same applies for Ziggs, Teemo, Jinx.
5. This version is a tank meta. Boots plus 5 tank items vs. boots plus 4 tank items and one damage item: the latter sacrifices 20% durability for an 80% increase in damage.
6. From equipment to durability: 1000 HP combined with 125 resistance gives the highest yield (in other words, if you pair Bloodthirster with Thornmail, your armor won't be enough, especially since you still need magic resistance).
7. At least Smite, Ignite, Exhaust should be switched to smart casting. Try it, and you'll understand after a few uses. If you insist on playing cards, Vayne, or Fiora, remap the passive skill key to items like Blade of the Ruined King, Zhonya's Hourglass, or Randuin's.
8. Pay attention to linking control with teammates (this is very important). In the S3 group stage, OMG vs. TSM small Dragon fight, OMG used Ahri, Elise, and Thresh to control the enemy for 5 seconds, from full health to death without them casting a skill.
9. First mid-lane trade: if you insist on going for a kill, use Flash to dodge the enemy's main upgrade skill. You need to plan in advance whether this trade will be lethal and Flash towards the enemy to avoid them flashing out of your range.
10. Support: kite while auto-attacking, use skill A while auto-attacking, place wards when enemies enter the bush, start healing when trading, position yourself between your squishy and the enemy, help ADC manage minion HP under tower — treat these as basic knowledge.
11. Support: with Leona, if the enemy Pantheon or Lee Sin dives onto your half-health carry, immediately Flash and Q, follow with E after Q — this may secure a kill for the ADC. Thresh should use jungle monsters to carry teammates. With Blitzcrank, when the enemy has Nocturne, keep W active on him, if he doesn't join the fight, you don't either; if your team loses the fight, it's not your fault.12. Use your ultimate cannot be interrupted, like with heroes such as Centaur, Malphite, or Vi. When you're about to get caught in a team control, throw out your ultimate instead of taking AOE together with teammates. By the way, you can understand Orianna's ultimate as gathering enemies in one spot, making your teammates' AOE truly effective. Therefore, Orianna is more effective when your teammates' team damage is high. If your teammates have very little AOE, don't use Orianna.
13. When playing a weaker hero in the jungle, if you know the enemy will gank you at level 2, why not go take the upper buff first? (Note: You can judge the enemy's blue/red start by their lane appearance time) (Further note: After the Diamond rank, mid and top can deliberately appear 5 seconds late; if mid can waste a skill before showing up, even better).
14. Lux, Brand: After controlling the enemy, don't use your robot carelessly. When you decide to block Caitlyn's bullets for someone else, don't use Zhonya's just for fun.
15. For friends who are not confident with long-range non-targeted skills, you can attack first, then follow the projectile with the skill.
16. On the blue side mid lane, you can ward the upper side bush of mid, and then lane near this bush to avoid getting ganked easily. On the purple side, choose the lower bush. (When playing mid, you are responsible for reporting missing enemies, and after a missing report, you are also responsible for telling teammates if the enemy mid went top or bottom. If you don't know, buy a ward.)
17. Top lane blood fight once (you're jungle): if both junglers die and your laners obtain double buffs while the enemy laner is dead, then after respawning, clear your jungle and go top to counter-gank. The enemy jungler will definitely try to cover their mistake by hanging top. Same logic applies to mid lane.
18. When fighting Malphite, go into the nearest bush; when fighting one, the other will go back and forth there and won't attack you. (Yasuo can work with 4 people or 3 wolves to pass walls, practice on your own.)
19. Since you know 7:10 is the time when the enemy mid takes blue, why don't you gank? You know Lee Sin can solo Dragon at level 5, why don't you steal it? This applies to several previous tips as well—knowing and using are two different concepts.
20. Pay attention to your XP bar. When you are just a sliver away from leveling up, and you see an enemy minion that is about to die, and your minion count is 2-3 more than the enemy's, this is a good time to fight. (Works at every level) Ideally, start attacking the instant you level up, do one combo and retreat, kill if you can.
21. Being one level ahead in lane equals one extra Doran's item. So: 1. Early, the top or mid lane eliminating a jungle enemy is better to starve their level progression.2. Killing the enemy while pushing the lane is the most basic mindset. 3. As a jungler, don't go to other lanes to steal experience, and when ambushing, stay away from the experience zone. 4. When behind, don't always go back just because you're low—carry more health potions and get some defensive items. (If the enemy jungler is present, leave immediately.)
22. When you are being killed under the tower during a minor disadvantage, don't attack recklessly: 1. Use all your damage skills on the person tanking the tower, including ignite and other effects. 2. Use your movement skills to dodge the enemy's crowd control. 3. Run to areas behind the tower with vision obstacles. As long as you do this, if you die, it's not your fault.
23. About towers: 1. Outer towers deal less damage than inner towers, so pay attention to the order when taking down towers. 2. In mid-game team fights, if you barely win and destroy the enemy's bottom lane, immediately respawn and head to the top lane—emphasis on immediately. If there's no absolute good opportunity, don't attack their top lane. If the enemy chases you, stick together and run; dragging three minutes is enough for super minions to take down one of the enemy's main towers. When someone returns home to manage the minion waves, start the fight.
24. Following 23, when you clearly plan to take down a side lane tower, on the way there, place wards in the nearby jungle so that it's almost fully visible. At this point, vision in other jungle areas is meaningless.
25. On how to identify Shaco or Wukong: I usually take Ignite before the fight and save area-of-effect (AOE) skills. Use the AOE when they clone themselves, which usually hits the main body to make up for the temporary loss of damage.
26. Pick any professional match video; mid and top laners have one thing in common: 2/3 of their skills are used to last-hit and farm minions. Also, don't stand with a few low-health minions; don't let someone use a single skill to both farm and harass.
27. When behind in mid lane, quickly build the hat instead of small items one by one. It's okay to use a blue potion here, but don't run around using a blue potion everywhere and waste time.
28. Anticipate what will happen next. For example, if your ADC is pushing bottom and gets ganked by Gragas, and you know he'll throw his ultimate at a spot one unit ahead of your retreat path, you can use Flash to cross that point when his ultimate is in the air and run along with it. Also, if you're playing Thresh and the enemy Janna tries to engage on your ADC, when you see her E animation, you can throw your E into her approach path to push her back.
29. Following 28, if you're Leona and Sejuani at level 6 tries to ult you directly, knowing she will follow, use W plus Flash to the tower, QE, wait 1.7 seconds then ult (R) and let her blackout and rethink her mistake.Other heroes are similar to Vi; you can't dodge her ultimate, but you can drag her to a place where your teammates can focus fire on her (if she's pure tank, still avoid bringing her near your teammates) (same with Lee Sin, but he's more mobile and can interrupt himself, use with caution).
30. For heroes like Akali, Zed, or Irelia who are solo champions, they're indeed not weak, but before picking such heroes, your teammates need to have enough teamfight damage or sustained fighting ability, otherwise your teamfights will be very difficult. So for assassins, I recommend Ahri, Kassadin, or Talon more.
31. In the current patch, wards can block some projectile damage, provided the enemy has vision of your ward (like if you just placed it). It seems it will soon be fixed, but it's useful for now.
32. When picking champions, if the enemy has champions like Darius or Kennen, picking a tanky champion with knockback abilities like Alistar or Janna is most likely to turn a teamfight (Singed or Blitzcrank can also work).
33. Against enemies like Renekton or Riven who have big ultimates (all ultimates with a state effect count), if the enemy initiates early, use a little crowd control and lead your teammates away; there's no need to fight right then.
34. For AP supports like Annie or Soraka, for red runes I recommend AD; for the first major item, I recommend Iceborn Gauntlet. Try it, the AoE slow is very annoying for the enemy. (Support items that focus on mana early will make fights very punishing; I strongly do not recommend them, even if you're playing Nidalee or someone who uses potions, I still wouldn't build them).
35. I'll clearly tell you, in the current patch, pro players' early build ideas for champions like Sona, Gragas, Ziggs, or Orianna are: more mana, little Athene's, 435, big Athene's, boots, then 1600. You can check any video, there are such builds even in recent professional matches.
36. If you're not duo queuing, when you jungle and want to gank a lane, you should ping beforehand; the laner might be focusing on last-hitting, and you might end up giving one kill for nothing. This is something from Bronze 5 to Diamond, everyone should pay attention. Low ranks usually don't watch the mini-map, high ranks often have OCD about minions and won't participate in fights until they finish farming, and by the time they join, the fight is over.
37. In teamfights, don't blindly go for the backline; figure out who the core is on both sides, whether you should protect or attack them.
38. Always maximize benefits for your carry; maybe the next minion can allow them to complete a big item, if you steal a minion, when they go back to base they'll be missing a small item compared to the enemy.39. Robot's Q: This is a skill that almost guarantees a kill, a very powerful ability. First, the robot stops, then its claw shoots out, then it pulls back, and finally, only after the action ends can it move.
We can easily see:
1. The robot cannot move during Q, meaning when being chased by the robot, you can decide whether to dodge by watching if the robot stops moving, rather than observing if its claw comes out, because that would be too slow and delay your reaction. Additionally, the robot can fake movement with S and then grab, which is more accurate (others may not know to dodge by watching the robot stop, but generally, they will instinctively want to move). Also, during the claw's return, the robot cannot move, but if it misses, it is free to move for the remaining time.
2. The actual width of the robot's Q is much larger than the animation width. When using or dodging Q, you should imagine the Q being slightly narrower than the width of Nocturne's Q (rather than the animation's single cable and claw). The finesse is in showmanship: Thresh and Nidalee's Qs can also use the same technique.
3. Robot's Q can be interrupted not just by Ezreal's skill; in fact, Tristana and Graves can also do it, but timing is crucial. Because there is no video, players have to figure it out themselves. Be careful not to mess up and die. Furthermore, the robot's Q clearly has a 1-second stun, which ends during the pull, so it is often ignored. However, anyone who cancels Q through various methods still takes 1 second of stun.
4. It is well-known that the Qs of the robot, Thresh, and Taric are quite useful in chasing, but are often dodged with mobility skills. However, most mobility skills have a trajectory. You can use W to get close and fake Q to force the enemy to use mobility, then a simple predictive Q can trap them (Jarvan's EQ combo is strong, but can be pulled back mid-path). If unsure, you can aim the pull at the endpoint of the enemy's mobility skill, but due to range limits, usually aim at a point along the path. Graves, FBI, and Caitlyn's e are favorites of the robot.
Secret to Climbing Ranks
Rule 1: Don't play ranked for your first match of the day; play a casual match first to get a feel for the game, and try to use the champions you plan to play in ranked!
Rule 2: Two positions, six champions! If you haven't mastered the gameplay of the two positions and six champions, practice in casual matches!
Rule 3: When picking champions, if a teammate strongly wants a certain position, don't force it, and even more, don't flame. If you say things like 'I won't give it, so I'll just feed' or 'Double queue, give it to me', this game has a 90% chance of being lost! Try to let each person get the position they are good at!
Rule 4: At the start of the loading screen, first observe the enemy lineup, roughly determine potential strong and weak lanes, and note things to watch out for in team fights. For example: if the enemy has Doom Jungle and Sun Goddess Support, then Mercury's Treads are a great choice! Then observe the summoner spells; for example, if the enemy has Teleport, type a warning to your teammates when the game begins and be cautious when fighting someone with Teleport!
Rule 5: Don't intentionally chase first blood at the start, and don't lose confidence if you die first! In the current version, the reward for first blood is very low! Trading more than two summoner spells for a first blood when the enemy doesn't use theirs is a losing deal! If teammates care a lot about giving up first blood, comfort them with messages or charm!
Rule 6: Before 10 minutes, the game mostly revolves around the jungle. Be familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of both the enemy and our junglers' champions, set vision at buffs, coordinate with the jungle for counter-jungling, and protect your jungle area.
A Letter from a Support to the ADC
1. Playing support isn't because I am worse than you, it's because you are in lane 1, and I am in lane 5!
2. Don't say I stole a kill; there's no rule that kills belong to you!
3. True ADCs earn money by last-hitting minions! Remember the old saying: 'Kills to you, minions to me!' How harmonious that is!
4. Don't casually talk about 20 minutes; if the early game goes smoothly, what good is that for you, ADC? ADCs are about late-game!
5. If you have 75 gold when leaving base, buy a ward! It's always useful, and I will be grateful!
6. Don't blame me when you die to ganks. There are only five of us in total; if someone goes missing, be careful!
7. When trying to dive under a tower to kill, can you first pay attention to your positioning? Standing under the enemy tower to deal damage, that little body of yours won't last long!8. You like playing ADC so much, can you work on your last-hitting first? Seeing you with 50 CS at 10 minutes really frustrates me!
9. When I'm being ganked, I go in to take the damage, not because I want you to die, and I don't want you to rush in and save me out of sympathy!
10. When the enemy has Blitzcrank, Thresh, Maokai, and Janna, can you pay attention to your positioning?
11. When I go back to place wards, please don't be reckless! Okay?
12. When the jungler comes to gank and the enemy ADC and support are dead, you can afford to buy a B.F. Sword, but can you not rush back home? Let's push a tower and take the dragon first, okay?
13. It's good habit to take those two golems when leaving base, unless the wave is under the tower!
14. Pay attention to your champion's role: if you play Ashe, don't compete with Caitlyn in the early game; if there's a support, don't hoard your mana!
15. This is not DOTA. In the late game, you can't 1v5. If all the kills go to you and you have a full build while the rest of us are AFK, if you can still win, then I might as well be talking nonsense.
16. When you have a full build and both potions, why do you still need gold? Can you let me have some?
17. When I go to place a ward, can you protect me?
18. My champion is either Janna or Thresh and can't fight the ADC, so put away that pride of yours!!
