A teenager stabbed his father in the chest to get money; while his father was seriously injured and rescued, he was still surfing the internet at the cafe
On the morning of January 31, 15-year-old Xiao Jun (pseudonym) returned home after two days and nights of internet access. His uncle and cousin rushed over, caught Xiao Jun, and called 110 to report the incident. During the more than two days Xiao Jun spent at the internet cafe, his father was in critical condition from a knife wound and was continuously being treated in the hospital. The one who stabbed his father was Xiao Jun.
Stabbed his father for money
15-year-old Xiao Jun lived with his parents in Liuzhuo Village, Yanghe Industrial New District, Liuzhou City. He should have been in eighth grade but had dropped out of school for nearly a year. Xiao Jun's parents are ordinary villagers without employment. His father is older and is already 60 years old this year.
Around 11 p.m. on January 28, Xiao Jun woke up at home feeling very hungry and went to the kitchen to look for food. He couldn't find any leftovers in the kitchen and wanted to ask his father to help him make some food. By then, it was already late at night, and both parents were asleep. Xiao Jun ignored all this; he went to his parents' room and asked his father to get up and cook food for him. Awakened by the noise, his father ignored Xiao Jun's request and continued sleeping.
Xiao Jun said, "It's fine if you don't want to cook. If you pay, I'll go out and eat." So, he tried to pull his father's coat, trying to take money from his pocket. His father originally used the jacket as a pillow under his head, but when the son tried to pull it off, he quickly got up, grabbed the clothes, and tried to snatch them back. Xiao Jun and his father struggled at home for a while but couldn't get the jacket, so he came up with a "tough move."
Xiao Jun took a curved knife from their attic and threatened his father to give him money. His father still refused to pay, so Xiao Jun stabbed his father in the chest. After his father was injured and collapsed, Xiao Jun snatched his father's jacket and pulled a stack of bills from his pocket, about two to three thousand yuan.
After receiving the money, Xiao Jun immediately ran out of the house. Xiao Jun's mother got up and saw her husband injured and lying on the ground, bleeding profusely. She immediately called 120 for help and called 110 for help.
Spending over a thousand yuan at the internet café
After leaving home, Xiao Jun went to the nearby Liujiang River and threw the knife he was holding into the river. Afterwards, he took a car to an internet café on Hexi Road in Liunan District to surf the internet. With money in hand, Xiao Jun ate, drank, and played games at the café, and before he knew it, he had played until around 8 a.m. on January 29.After leaving the internet cafe on Hexi Road, Xiao Jun took a bus to another internet cafe on Xihuan Road to continue surfing the internet. This time, he played from the morning of January 29 until the morning of January 31. During the two days and three nights in the internet cafe, he spent more than 1,000 yuan taken from his father. Around 9 a.m. on the 31st, Xiao Jun left the internet cafe and took a bus home.
During the two days and three nights that Xiao Jun lingered in the internet cafes, his father was receiving emergency treatment in the hospital. Xiao Jun's mother told the police that it was not until the morning of January 31 that her husband's condition stabilized and he was transferred to a general ward, only able to barely consume some liquid food.
The news of Xiao Jun returning home quickly reached his uncle and cousin. The two rushed to Xiao Jun's home, caught him, and called 110 to report to the police. While waiting for the police to arrive, the uncle and cousin could not help but physically reprimand Xiao Jun. It was only then that Xiao Jun realized the severity of the trouble he had caused.
Mother requests legal action against her son
Upon learning that her son had been taken to the Xincheng Police Station, Xiao Jun's mother requested the police to punish her defiant son according to the law.
During the investigation, the police learned that Xiao Jun's family did not live in luxury. Xiao Jun has a younger sister three years his junior, and the family of four lives in a few small tile-roofed houses. The dilapidated housing is adjacent to a pigsty, although the pigsty no longer has pigs. Relatives told the police that Xiao Jun's academic performance was poor and he was somewhat mischievous when he was in elementary school, causing stress for both teachers and parents. In the autumn of 2013, his father sent him to a private school with a closed management system, hoping that strict teaching management could better discipline Xiao Jun. However, after only one semester, the school teachers refused to accept him. Xiao Jun also did not want to attend school anymore, so starting from the spring of 2014, he dropped out and stayed at home.
During the year of dropping out, Xiao Jun often roamed outside and liked to ask his father for money to spend at internet cafes. Obsessed with online games and staying up all night, Xiao Jun frequently lived a reversed daily schedule. On the night of the incident, at 11 p.m., Xiao Jun had just woken up.
Since Xiao Jun is still a minor and his injured father was the victim, the police did not immediately take coercive measures against Xiao Jun. After Xiao Jun's father's injuries have recovered, the police will decide on further actions against Xiao Jun based on the forensic assessment of the injuries and the victim's wishes.
Currently, Xiao Jun has been handed over to relatives to take him home for custodial education.
