To be honest, I rarely write long reviews for casual games, but the game "Baby Loves Puzzles" really surprised me. Let me talk about my gaming experience first. Starting from "Snake" and "Tetris" in the Symbian era, and playing all the way to the current 3A masterpieces, it has been almost twenty years. Everyone knows what's going on in the mobile game market recently. They're either pumping cards to get money or they're bombarded with ads. It's rare to find a development team that can calm down and make a pure puzzle game.
The name of this game sounds like it is for children, but after actual experience, I found that it is not the kind of thing that "fools parents". There are eleven themes, ranging from animals, landscapes to cartoon characters, which are quite comprehensive. The quality of the pictures under each theme is also good, without the rough and compressed feeling. The twelve difficulties are divided very carefully, from the simplest 4 pieces to the most complicated hundreds of pieces, step by step. Don't tell me, I spent almost an hour on the most difficult levels, and even used two prompts in the middle. 😅
What surprised me the most was the magnetic block locking feature. In many jigsaw puzzles, it is easy to slip when dragging blocks, especially on mobile phones with small screens. It is really annoying to click on the wrong position. This game can lock the pieces you have put together correctly, making the operation much smoother. The prompt props are not the kind of brainless design that "tells you the answer directly", but highlights the outline of an area and allows you to figure it out yourself, which retains the fun of the puzzle.
I also want to mention its business attitude. Free download, no pop-up ads, and no forcing you to watch videos to unlock props. Nowadays, many casual games require you to watch a 30-second advertisement after playing for two minutes. This game does the opposite, which is really good for people. The developer, Shenzhen Lieyou Technology Co., Ltd., didn't pay much attention in the past, but this operation deserves praise.
Of course, there are also shortcomings. For example, there is a lack of online battle or ranking functions, and there is a lack of social dynamics; and the block cutting mode of some themes is relatively fixed, which may feel repetitive once you are familiar with it. But considering that it is a pure puzzle tool, these are not flaws.
Finally, let me express my feelings. Nowadays, everyone wants to play games quickly. Things like "ten games in one second" and "automatic path finding" seem to be abandoned by the times if they go slower. But games like jigsaw puzzles force you to sit down and try each piece piece by piece without being impatient. After turning 30, I found myself becoming more and more fond of this kind of game that requires patience. Maybe it's because I'm getting old? 😂 In short, whether you are looking for an educational toy for your children or to relax your mind occasionally, this game is worth a try. It's not bragging, it's sincere enough.
