To be honest, as an old player who came from the Symbian era, I have played at least dozens of SLG models over the years. From the earliest tribal wars to the later Clash of Kings, and now to the various reskinned and gold-priced masterpieces, to be honest, there are really not many that I can calm down and experience for more than a week. But the game "Galaxy Battleship" really made my eyes shine.
Call it special, but in fact the core gameplay is still the same as SLG: building a base, collecting resources, building troops, beating people, and alliance warfare. But the key lies in its detail and sense of atmosphere. First of all, the subject matter must be chosen well. The interstellar science fiction background is not the same as the Middle Ages or the Three Kingdoms. You command the spacecraft to shuttle through the galaxy and collect future resources such as helium 3 and dark matter. The sense of immersion is much stronger than cutting fruit. Moreover, its warships are designed with great care. Each model of ship has a different appearance and skill special effects. It is not the kind of perfunctory product that can just be used as a model.
Not to brag, the early game experience is quite smooth. The novice guide is step-by-step and will not force you to top up money as soon as you get started. The resource acquisition is also relatively reasonable, and you can play without spending money in the early stage. Upgrade buildings, research technology, send fleets to sweep, and control the rhythm just right. For an office worker like me who only has one or two hours of fragmented time every day, it is neither tiring nor tiring.
Of course, as an old player, I have to say a few shortcomings. First of all, starting from the middle of the game, if you don't spend a little money, resources will be really tight. In particular, upgrading high-end warships requires a lot of krypton gold materials, and free players basically have to go for more than half a year. Secondly, although the alliance system is good, if you add an inactive alliance, it will basically be a single-player game. Finally, the game's music and sound effects are relatively mediocre, without that sci-fi epic feel, which is a pity. After all, I am posting in the "Music Sharing Section", but I still have to mention: The BGM of this game can only be rated 6 points. I hope that some electronic music or symphony can be added in subsequent updates.
Overall, "Galactic Battleship" is a recommended SLG mobile game. It has no disruptive innovation, but it is more solid and sincere. If you are an old player who likes science fiction themes, or are tired of playing the Three Kingdoms SLG every day, you might as well give this game a try. It's free to play and there are no compulsory fees. It's good to experience it in the early stages. Of course, if you are already a heavy money-spending player, then just pretend that I didn't say it. After all, every game has its ceiling. 😏
Finally, I think of the days when I played the mobile version of StarCraft on N-Gage more than ten years ago. At that time, the screen was pitifully small, but I had a great time playing it. Nowadays, game graphics are better and the systems are more complex, but that pure joy seems to be getting harder and harder to find. Galaxy Battleship has helped me regain a little bit of the feeling I had back then.
