To be honest, I recently went through my old machine to clean up the memory, and accidentally discovered that this game is still there. I played it for a few minutes, and it suddenly brought back the feeling of playing JAVA games many years ago. To be fair, the mobile game market is now a mixed bag, and this kind of stand-alone escape game is no longer common.
The game is about a bald mysterious man who controls the protagonist. You have to find clues in a strange house, evade pursuit, and piece together the truth. It sounds like a routine, but when you actually play it, the atmosphere is quite solid. The dark corridors, the sudden appearance of wanderers, the breathless waiting while hiding in the cabinet... the sense of immersion is much stronger than many online games that are advertised as "horror". The key is that there is no charge and no ads, which will almost disappear in mobile games in 2025.
Compared with similar games, such as the famous "Escape" series, that one is indeed scary, but the PC version has a high configuration threshold and the mobile experience is basically zero. "Angry Boy Pedro" is closer to the early "Horror Maze" or "Dark Escape" mobile games. The picture is cartoonish but the atmosphere is rich, and the operation is simple - virtual joystick + interactive buttons, no complicated tutorials, and quick to get started.
There are also disadvantages: the process is relatively short and can be completed in about two hours; the BGM in some scenes suddenly freezes, which may be an optimization issue. In addition, the Chinese translation is a bit machine translation, "bald man" appears repeatedly, and the humor is strange. But considering it's free and has no in-app purchases, these minor quibbles are completely tolerable.
I say it's a recommendation, but it's actually more of a nostalgia. Think about that Symbian era, an 8KB JAVA game could last a summer vacation. Now the picture has improved, but the core is becoming more and more impetuous. This game is like a bowl of clear noodle soup, not amazing, but warm to the stomach. Friends who are interested can try it, especially suitable for playing a game in a fragmented time.
(p.s. I don't know if it's right to post it in the “Selfies and Dating” section, but there is an Easter egg in the game that hides in the closet and takes selfies… it somehow fits the theme of the section 😅)
