To be honest, when I was browsing the mobile game library recently, I accidentally discovered a game called "The Wolf Is Coming". I originally thought it was another fast-food game, but after playing it, I was really confused. 😌
I've been playing mobile games since the Symbian era. At that time, I played Farming Simulator and Pokemon all the time. Later, smartphones became more popular and there were more games, but the immersion was rarely felt anymore. But this game "The Wolf Is Coming" actually allowed me to regain the pure joy of playing simulation games back then. I'm not bragging, but its core experience is very similar to those early stand-alone development games - there are no mandatory tasks, no krypton gold traps, you are just a wolf, integrate into the wolf pack from scratch, explore the map, develop attributes, and slowly become the leader.
In the game, you can choose between gray wolf, jackal, and black wolf. The initial attributes of each are different, but after that, it's up to you to decide which direction to develop. Do you want to be a master hunter, or do you want to lead a pack of wolves with your wits? Either way. This is particularly similar to the feeling I had when I played "Rise of the Dragon" before. It has a high degree of freedom and does not limit you to dead routes. Nowadays, many new games want to plan every step for you, for fear that you will not understand the game and will lose the fun of exploration.
The hunting mode is also very interesting. From rats to raccoons, you can encounter various prey on the map. It is not the kind of mindless monster hunting, but you really need to observe the terrain and take advantage of it. I've been playing for three days, and I'm still figuring out which hunting strategy saves the most energy. 🐾
Maybe it's not as cool as those 3A masterpieces, but to me, this kind of simple, free, and warm game is the one that really allows people to let go of their stress and immerse themselves in it. If you also miss the slow-paced simulation games of the past, you might as well try this wolf world.
