To be honest, I have been diving in the "Happy Paradise" section for a long time recently. Today I saw someone recommending "Aerial Crisis". I happened to go down and give it a try a few days ago, so I could chat for a while.
Let me talk about myself first. I have been playing mobile games since the Symbian era. At that time, I played Snake and Space Shooting with gusto. Fast forward more than ten years, and now I am thirty, but good games can still keep me entertained. In fact, when I first saw this "Air Crisis" developer "Henan Xinmang Digital", I didn't have high hopes. After all, there were too many domestic small factories making vertical shooting, and few could persist in playing it. But it's free, and with the running platform 5.0, even old phones can run it, so I tried it with a nostalgic mentality.
Not to brag, this game is pretty average among its genre, but I think it has a bit of an "old school" charm. Let's talk about the advantages first: it feels solid, the feedback for dodging and shooting is very direct, and there are no fancy automatic aiming or full-screen special effects. Nowadays, many vertical shooting games give away a bunch of invincible props and then force you to top up money. Although "Aerial Crisis" also has a weapon upgrade system, the rhythm is very comfortable. Shooting down enemy planes will drop equipment, and you need to save a little to upgrade. It will not make you feel that you are being pushed by the system. In addition, the enemy's barrage design is a bit interesting. Different fighter planes have different levels of protection. You must patiently observe the ballistics and not make sudden moves. This kind of "slow-paced shooting" actually tests predictions, and veteran players should like it.
Of course there are disadvantages. First of all, the graphics...the pixel style is a bit rough. Although it can be understood that it has been optimized for the 5.0 platform, it is still a bit worse than those current 2.5D mobile games. The sound effects are also very monotonous, with just "ta-da-da" and "boom" all the time, which makes your ears tired after playing for a long time. In addition, the levels are a bit repetitive. The first few levels are basically reskinned enemies, and there is not enough depth. Compared with similar games like "Thunder Fighter" and "Galaxy on Fire", it lacks the playability developed by RPG and is more like a short and fast arcade game.
But having said that, it is very conscientious to be able to play to this level for free for 0 yuan. Nowadays, many mobile games are advertised as free, but all pop-up gift packages are there, and you will be asked to quit after playing for ten minutes. This "Air Crisis" doesn't even have a first shot. It relies entirely on operation and patience. It reminds me of the innocent days of "unlocking new wings by passing levels" on Saipan. As a nostalgic concoction, it's worth a try, but don't expect it to last you a few months.
Finally, to be honest, if you are a ten-year-old player like me and are looking for the hard-core feeling of "relying on technology rather than money", you can give it a try; if you are a young player looking for graphics and plot, you may find it a bit crude. But it's free, so you won't lose even if you delete it. If the old friends in this section have time, you can play next and talk about the memories of those vertical shootings back then! 😄
