To be honest, after playing games for so many years, from Snake in the Saipan era to Chicken Eating now, I have seen too many so-called "innovations", but most of them are just changing skins and harvesting leeks. It wasn't until I accidentally discovered "Battle of Survival" last week that I, an old Ben3 player, really stopped.
Not to brag, but what impresses me most about this game is that it so comfortably combines a God's perspective with survival competition. Think about it, those 3D masterpieces of traditional chicken games have beautiful graphics, but they make you feel dizzy after playing for a long time, especially for a presbyopic person like me who is in my early thirties😄. The 2.5D perspective of "Battle of Survival" not only has a wide field of vision, but also the operation is very precise. Positioning, blocking the field of view, and predicting the opponent's route all have the brain-burning feeling of playing a real-time strategy game.
Compared with similar products, such as "Peace Elite" or "Knives Out", they pursue picture quality and stacking materials too much, but ignore the purity of tactical games. The footsteps warning system and the poison push mechanism of the nine-square map in "Battle of Survival" are obviously more "e-sports". Especially the sandbox construction gameplay, which can actually build walls to block roads and hide and seek. This randomness makes every game feel like solving a dynamic puzzle.
Of course, there are also shortcomings. After all, it is the work of a small company, and the character modeling and movement fluency are still far behind those of big companies. The BGM and sound effects are not amazing, but for players who like strategy more than graphics, these are acceptable. At least I kept eating chicken for three nights and never felt tired after eating chicken🚗.
Having said that, nowadays, the mobile game industry is constantly developing "open worlds" and "metaverses", and small but beautiful innovations like "Battle of Survival" are even more valuable. If you have to find an analogy, it's a bit like "Brothers of Fire" on the Symbian platform back then - it doesn't rely on fancy, just the gameplay itself to make it addictive.
Finally, if you are tired of the same old chicken games, or are prone to 3D dizziness like me, you can really give this game a try. Pair it with headphones and listen to the footsteps of the game. The excitement of your heart racing is definitely more real than the gold-paying card games in your circle of friends👍.
