It has been almost a week since I started playing "Escape Room 18 Mobile Maze". I have completed the game in two weeks, and each chapter takes about 8 minutes on average. As a data geek, I would like to share some practical and effective efficiency techniques with handicap geeks and novices to help you save time on detours.
First combine the compass and the note in advance: get the world compass and the distress note from the pirate treasure chest at the beginning, do not separate them. Fold the note directly in the backpack and stuff it into the gap in the compass (actual testing can trigger Susan's hidden dialogue). When you later find the ghost captain, you will directly skip an invalid investigation, saving about 2 minutes.
Regarding the judgment point of octopus tentacles: the giant octopus on the deck of the ghost ship, many people are stuck on "how to avoid the tentacles". Note that the tentacle attack animation has a fixed forward pan: when the water ripple effect appears in the upper left corner of the screen, immediately click the barrel in the lower right corner (not the rope on the left). This location is the only point where you can pass without damage, allowing you to collect three key gears at once without having to read files repeatedly.
Material recovery order: For candles and tinder in the Lost Territory, it is recommended to light all the torches first, because there are three black boxes in the subsequent dungeon that require light to open, and a master key is hidden inside (you can skip the subsequent lock-picking mini-game). According to actual measurement comparison, following this order can reduce about 4 times of repeated pathfinding.
One final note: For the church bell puzzle in Chapter 5, just press "left three, right one, left two" to move the pendulum, saving time on trial and error. Don't ask me how I calculated it. This rule comes from the game's built-in deciphering logic, and it's stable after trying it twice.
I wish you all good luck in speedrunning. If you are stuck, post a screenshot in the comment area and I will help you break down the values. 🔍
