Recently, I have seen many people asking why Han Family Jianghu has been popular for so long. As an old player who has been playing since the closed beta, I feel it is necessary to objectively talk about the true situation of this game. It's not the kind of masterpiece that's stunning at first glance, but it does blaze a unique path in martial arts mobile games.
Graphics/Music: 7/10
The ink-and-wash style plus Q-version vertical painting is not a top-notch picture, but the overall artistic conception is very comfortable. There are several BGMs in the music that are very ear-catching, especially the soundtrack during battles, which is full of Jianghu flavor. The disadvantage is that the UI is a bit old, and some interface interactions are not smooth enough. It can be seen that it is a product from a few years ago.
Gameplay/System: 9/10
This is the core highlight of Hanjiajianghu. It is essentially a strategy RPG + card development + turn-based war chess, but the combat system is very deep. Each knight has multiple skills, and the skills are linked. The equipment can be freely matched with martial arts, mental skills, talents, and you can even develop your own routines. The sword discussion mode of PVP takes "routine" to the extreme. The same character is completely two creatures in the hands of different players. This combination of high degree of freedom + strong strategy is very rare in mobile games.
Krypton gold/price ratio: 8/10
The game itself is free to download, and there are no compulsory gold points. Monthly cards and battle passes are very cost-effective, and free players can also accumulate enough card drawing resources through daily activities and activities. Of course, if you want to be a complete illustrated knight or pursue extreme PVP rankings, you do need to invest a certain amount of money. But in general, it is the type of "Kryptonians have the gameplay of Kryptonians, and civilians have the happiness of civilians", and it will not force you to pay.
Social/Community: 7/10
There are gangs, team dungeons, and a sword discussion system, and the social atmosphere is acceptable. However, it prefers stand-alone gameplay, and many plots and challenges can be studied slowly by yourself. There is a good atmosphere in the community where the big guys share team formation and routine strategies. It is considered a circle that pays more attention to "research".
Why is it so popular? I think the main reason is that it has successfully captured two groups: one is "hardcore players" who like to study strategies and enjoy developing their own routines, and the other is "old martial arts players" who are tired of automatically hanging up and mindlessly stacking values. Its combat system has enough randomness and depth that you have to think about countermeasures every time you encounter a different lineup. This kind of "every battle is new" experience is very rare.
In addition, its operation is relatively conscientious, with many activities and stable benefits, and there are few embarrassing operations. The plot writing is also worth looking at, at least it's not the old "I am the chosen one" routine. Some of the branch choices and character stories are quite interesting.
Of course, it's not without its shortcomings. The novice guidance is not very friendly, and it is easy to get lost in the early stage. Many core gameplays cannot be experienced until the middle and late stages. The picture style may dissuade some players, after all, everyone now likes high-definition 3D.
In general, Hanjia Jianghu is a game that “gets more interesting the more you play it.” If you can accept its graphics and entry threshold, you will definitely be attracted by its strategic depth and Jianghu atmosphere. It's not cool, because there are really a group of people who are making games seriously, and there are also a group of people who are playing the game seriously. 🧠
Rating (personal): 8.2/10
Advantages: extremely deep strategy, free combination of routines, conscientious operation, and sincerity in the plot
Disadvantages: Old graphics, poor novice guidance, and some UIs are not smooth
