I just finished a game of Glory of the Republic, and the words "Yes commander" in my earphones suddenly brought me back twenty years ago. I was still in junior high school at that time, and my brother and I sneaked to the Internet cafe and stayed up all night playing. He built a prism tank, and I built a Kirov airship. The two of us were crowded in front of a fifteen-inch CRT monitor, and our eyes were almost glued to the screen. Thinking about it now, at that time I could hear "On my way!"
Everyone would be so excited that they cheered softly, as if they had been given blood.
Now I am lying on the bed alone, the screen of my mobile phone is slightly bright, and my fingertips are tapping the touch screen to build weapons. Barracks, mines, radars...the same names are still familiar, but there is no longer the person next to me who wants to compete with me for the mouse. It's actually quite comfortable to play this kind of slow-paced RTS late at night. It's not as noisy as during the day. Every time you build a unit, it's like filling a corner in your heart. I felt a little sleepy halfway through the game, but I just didn't want to save and exit. It seemed that as soon as I exited, my youth was completely archived. Ha, I stayed up all night again. I will definitely sleep through my morning class tomorrow... No matter what, I recommend it to all the old military fans who stay up late at night like me. 🚁
