I just finished the game... and now it's already dark outside the window 🥱 I promised to play for a while before going to bed, but I ended up staying up all night again without realizing it. However, this game is really suitable for playing quietly in the middle of the night. Although it sounds like a zombie theme, the feeling of slowly exploring a small town, coupled with the quietness of the night, is particularly immersive.
At first, I chose a medic role, thinking that it would be more stable to restore my health. It starts in a dilapidated gas station, the surroundings are pitch black, only the roar of zombies can be heard in the distance. But don't be afraid, the game is actually not very fast-paced. You can slowly search for supplies, look through cabinets, and look in the trunk of the car to find some cans and bandages. The weapon only has an iron pipe at the beginning, and it takes several hits to defeat a zombie. Instead, it gives you a real sense of tension, but it will not scare you by suddenly jumping in the face, which is very friendly to timid players in the middle of the night 🥹
The most surprising thing is that the map in the game is really big! And there are many hidden cabins and basements. Sometimes you will find radios inside, playing intermittent old music. The melody is particularly suitable for the desolate and peaceful atmosphere after the end of the world. I found a tape in an abandoned church and listened to it for a long time before continuing... I almost forgot that this was an escape game, haha.
It is recommended to play before going to bed because: in fact, playing makes you sleepy 😂 It's not boring, it's the kind of tired feeling that your body relaxes after focusing on the operation. And if you are a night owl like me, you can turn on the game at two or three in the morning, turn down the volume of your headphones, and the only sounds left in the world will be your own footsteps and the roar of zombies in the distance, which will give you a particularly immersive feeling. When I finally escaped from the town, I felt a sense of accomplishment, and then I turned off the game and went to sleep with satisfaction 💤
But a reminder: don't stay up all night again like me! People who have to go to work tomorrow are already regretting it... But it's really good, so I'm going to catch up on my sleep and continue to fight zombies in my dreams 🧟‍♀️
