The current mobile game market is simply disgusting. When you open the app store, you will find 648 gift packs, free SSR for the first deposit, and limited-time card draw guarantees. They all want to tie your bank card to the game. I've been playing single-player games for more than ten years, and I'm annoyed when I see those cash-for-money games with the “free” banner. The plots are lame, the gameplay is stacked with values, and there's not even a decent exploration. They just think about how to make you pay.
But recently I came across a game called "Key of Time". To be honest, I didn't believe it at first. After all, a European and American style turn-based mobile game sounds like a reskinned web game. After downloading it and playing it for three days, it feels really good😅
There is no card draw in this game! No monthly pass! There is no daily krypton gold gift pack! Can you believe it? Just write 0 in the charging mode. I thought it was another word game at first, but as a result, no recharge window popped up until I reached level 20. Story missions, scene explorations, and monster spawning battles are all done step by step by yourself. Equipment is dropped by monster spawning, and pets are captured on the map. It is exactly the same as when you played "Dragon Quest" back in the day.
What surprised me the most was its home cultivation and arena competition. Home cultivation is not the kind that forces you to spend money to buy building materials, but you can actually grow your own vegetables, build your own house, and slowly accumulate resources. Arena competition is also pure strategy and cultivation, there is no VIP level suppression, and there is no such disgusting setting as "charging 100,000 to double the combat power". No matter what your attributes, skills, equipment, or pets are, you have to work hard to clear monsters or improve tasks. This is the real "strengthening of the team"👏
Of course, as a solo hunter, I still have to find fault. This game was later updated to include networking capabilities, but when I tried it, it could be played as a stand-alone game, and you could kill monsters offline without having to form a team or socialize, which I praised. But the visual effects, in 2010, cannot be compared with those 3A masterpieces, but they are better in that they have a unified style and are comfortable to watch.
If you're fed up with those mobile games that “don't pay for anything”, I really recommend giving this one a try. There is no dragon-slaying knife for the first deposit, and there is no guaranteed crooked pool, it is just a pure RPG adventure. Brushing monsters and dropping rare equipment can make you happy for half a day, hatching a top-notch pet can make you happy all day long, this is the feeling of playing games🔥
