Let me start by saying, this game is really great! Chinese style suspense puzzle, launched on April 29th, free to play! As a newbie like me, I was frightened by the gloomy Tianbao yamen as soon as I entered, but the more I played, the more I got into it and couldn't stop at all.
However, as a newbie, I have stepped into a lot of pitfalls. Let me tell you, you must not follow my old path.
The first pitfall: I clicked blindly and ended up stuck for an hour.
When I first entered, I saw a scroll on the wall. I thought it was a decoration, but I never clicked on it. Later I found out that I was looking for clues! I was just wandering around the yard, but I didn't realize where the mechanism was. After reading the guide, I discovered that many things can be interacted with, such as the bricks on the ground and the tea cups on the table, so you have to look carefully. Beginners must not just focus on the obvious places like me, and look at every corner, especially those places with different painting styles.
The second pitfall: I thought the clues were all written on paper, but it turned out that the lantern riddles were the key
At first I thought all the clues depended on picking up pieces of paper, but it turned out that the lantern riddles hanging in the yamen and the patterns on the windows were the core of the puzzle. I made blind guesses several times and wasted a lot of time. Later I found that I had to find the corresponding props before I could crack it. It is recommended that novices pick up all the things they can pick up first, and then put them together according to the shape of the pattern.
The third pitfall: being too frightened by the terrifying atmosphere to move
That underground palace is really eerie. As soon as the music started, my hands started to shake. As a result, there was a mechanism that I clearly understood, but I panicked and made a mistake. I was sent directly back to the entrance and had to go through it all over again. In fact, there is no need to be afraid. The scary scenes in the game are all required by the plot. The puzzle-solving part is very smooth. Just keep your mind steady and proceed step by step.
The fourth pitfall: forgetting to read the plot prompts
There must be a story behind the murders during the Tianbao period. At the beginning, I was only focused on solving the puzzles and didn't read the dialogue or diary at all. As a result, I had no idea why I was looking for those things later. Only later did I discover that the key characters and items suggested in the plot were the correct direction to solve the puzzle. Beginners must not skip the plot, especially the suicide note of the deceased in the Yamen, it is very important!
Finally, I want to say that although I stepped on a trap, I really felt a sense of accomplishment after playing it. Especially when the case turned around in the end, I was completely stunned. It turned out that someone was behind everything... No spoilers, you can experience it for yourself! I hope my experience can help other newcomers to become qualified little detectives in "The Festival of Immortality"! 🧐
(By the way, are you stuck in a certain mechanism and unable to move? Please give me some advice~)
