To be honest, when I saw the name of this game, my first reaction was a little emotional. Ten years ago, when the Saipan era ended and smartphones first emerged, this Q version of the Three Kingdoms card game was extremely popular. "Release the Three Kingdoms" was one of the early adopters. I remember it was launched around 2014. At that time, there were not so many flashy Three Kingdoms cards on the market. It immediately captured the hearts of veteran players like me with its cute painting style and light strategy.
I'm not going to brag about it, but compared with current similar games, such as "Young Three Kingdoms" and "Three Kingdoms Strategy Edition", its advantages and disadvantages are actually quite obvious. Let's talk about the advantages first: the painting style is pleasing, the character design is thoughtful, and classic characters such as Lu Bu and Diao Chan are made into Q-version young ladies and cute girls, which is indeed fresh. The threshold for getting started is low, and no complicated operations are required. You can play it in a spare time, which is very suitable for the performance of mobile phones back then. Moreover, its development system is relatively light, unlike some games nowadays that often have dozens of development lines, making playing it feel like going to work.
But the shortcomings are also obvious. Compared with "Young Three Kingdoms", its game content is not deep enough, and it is easy to get bored in the later stage. "Young Three Kingdoms" has done more in terms of lineup matching and skill linkage, and has been continuously updated for many years, taking care of both feelings and freshness. "Release the Three Kingdoms" is basically the same as "drawing cards + pushing pictures + PK", and the player interaction is also weak. There are no guild battles, cross-server battles and other gameplay methods that can retain people for a long time. In addition, although it does not have many krypton gold points, it is basically difficult to move forward with zero recharge in the later stage, and the level is serious. This is not as good as some current fair competition Three Kingdoms games.
Another big problem is music and sound effects. After all, this is a music sharing section, so I have to mention it. The BGM of "Release the Three Kingdoms" is actually quite classic, focusing on a relaxed and humorous style, but compared to the grandeur of the "Three Kingdoms" series or the explosive battlefield of "Dynasty Warriors", it is obviously a bit thin. However, considering that the game is positioned as a light and funny Q version, it is not too bad.
In short, if you are looking for a nostalgic, no-brainer, casual card to pass the time looking at cute generals, then "Release the Three Kingdoms" can be a try. But if you are looking for strategic depth, long-term playability, or want to feel the real atmosphere of the Three Kingdoms battlefield, then you should consider hard-core games like "Three Kingdoms: Strategy Edition" or "The Coast of the Land". 😂 As time goes by, old games have become sentimental.
