I just finished the first version of "Escape Room: Challenge" and played dozens of games in both single and team modes to find out the basic attributes, skill gains and actual combat error tolerance of the three initial characters. On the surface, this free game is an escape room + monster chase. In fact, there are hidden career differences. If you choose the wrong character in the early stage, you will go to jail directly. Let's go directly to the practical information and speak based on my actual measured data.
Let's first clarify the game mechanics: a single game is divided into two camps: survivors and hunters, but the roles are fixed during matching. Which profession you choose determines a fixed set of skill modules. There are currently three professions open: speeder, lurker, and guide. The official recommendation is that newcomers play Pathfinder, but after testing, I found that Pathfinder is the one that requires the most cooperation from teammates - let's talk about it one by one.
speed walker
The basic movement speed is 15% faster than the other two, and there is a short acceleration buff that lasts for 3 seconds after climbing over obstacles. The skill "Adrenaline" has a cooldown of 60 seconds. After being released, the movement speed will be increased by 30% for 8 seconds. During this period, one deceleration trap can be ignored. In the actual test of using this profession in a single game, the average escape time of the first three secret rooms was 12 seconds faster than that of the lurker. Disadvantages: fragile health, can be disabled by two slaps from a hunter, low error tolerance. Recommended for newbies? Not recommended unless you know the jump points and wall breaches of each map by heart. Suitable for experienced users to record records.
lurker
The initial health volume is the highest, 40% more than that of the Speed Walker. Comes with passive "silent step": completely silent when crouching and moving, and will not trigger the floor alarm. The skill "Shadow Camouflage" can make you invisible for 2 seconds after being locked by a hunter (moving will break the invisibility). I think this profession is the most cost-effective - it doesn't require high map understanding and relies on fault tolerance. I tried to deliberately step on three traps, and even with half health, I could still avoid fatal pursuits with my skills. The disadvantage is that the basic movement speed is slow and it is difficult to distance, so it needs to rely on the prop "acceleration shoes" to make up for it. It is recommended to bring this when forming a team, it can be used as a team meat shield and bait.
guide
The official label is "auxiliary", but in actual testing, he is a character with extremely low upper and lower limits. Passive "Resonance": Automatically mark the nearest interactable object (key, switch, etc.) on the minimap every 10 seconds. Skill "Guiding Beam": Provides teammates with an accelerating beam of light that lasts for 5 seconds, while own movement speed remains unchanged. Looks beautiful, right? But in actual combat, the marked points on the map sometimes mark the keys you have already taken, which is a waste of resources. Your teammates also need to cooperate with you to enter the beam of light in order to gain acceleration - there is basically no such tacit understanding in the passerby game. When playing solo, the leader is just a blank slate. The movement speed and blood volume are both intermediate values, without any highlights. It is recommended to consider it when fixing the fleet or opening the blacklist via voice.
To summarize the numerical income comparison:
Single brushing efficiency: Speed Walker > Lurker > Guide
Team fault tolerance: Lurker > Guide (with cooperation) > Speedster
Survivability: Lurker >>> Guide ≈ Speedster
Finally, let's talk about a hidden detail: the speedster's climbing acceleration and turning speed are bound. If you climb over twice in a row, the second acceleration will be attenuated to 10%. So don't be greedy for manipulation. Taking a short straight line is more stable than jumping over the wall in a fancy way. In addition, all characters will trigger a slight stiffness when the flashing frequency of fluorescent lights changes suddenly. The lurker's silent step can offset the action delay - this should be a bug, but the official has not fixed it, so take advantage of it.
If you want to get ahead on the list, choose a fast mover, if you want to be more stable, choose a lurker or a guide? Unless you have three fixed thighs, don't touch it. 🤷♂️
