Recently, a friend invited me to try out "Dark Light Years", saying it was a fusion of "Dark Journey to the West + Legend". After playing for a week, let's briefly talk about the real experience.
Let's talk about the graphics first. It adopts a dark realistic style, which is indeed different from the traditional bright colors of Journey to the West. The lighting is darker, the monster models are a bit ferocious, and the atmosphere is okay. However, the UI design is relatively old-fashioned, almost a replica of the legendary one, with large fonts and dense buttons, which does not quite keep up with the times. But for the legendary brother, this "retro flavor" may be a plus. Out of 10 points, I would give the picture a 7, which is quite satisfactory.
Gameplay is the core. The promotion says "full attack speed for a single occupation", and the initial attack speed is indeed very fast after entering the game. Killing monsters is like chopping vegetables, and the numbers on the screen are jumping, which is very refreshing. The equipment relies entirely on grinding and synthesizing, and the explosion rate is just about right. There is no lag in upgrading in the early stage. However, in the mid-term (about level 150), there will be a bottleneck in combat power, and you need to hang up to grind for materials or use krypton gold to improve it. There are classic gameplays such as cross-server siege and Shabak. It has automatic path finding and automatic hang-up, which is suitable for lazy people. But there are not many innovations. The essence is still the cycle of killing monsters, upgrading, exploding equipment, and PK. The gameplay is given 7.5 points, and the emotional points are added 0.5.
In terms of krypton gold, the charging model is 0, but don't be naive - there are many in-app purchases. The first recharge will give you a golden cudgel skin, and there are numerous monthly passes, battle orders, and various limited-time gift packages. You can play without spending money, but it will be much slower to defeat the boss, especially in cross-server battles, you will basically be defeated in seconds when you encounter a krypton gold boss. Fortunately, the equipment can be defeated by monsters, and if you are willing to be patient, you can chase slowly. For the Zero Krypton Party, the experience is passable, but don't try to dominate. I'd give it a 6.5 score for Krypton Gold. It's not too dark but it's not kind either.
The social experience is good, the gang system is very active, and people on the World Channel call for teaming up to fight bosses and attack cities every day. Moreover, the cross-server matching speed is fast, and you can do PK in the wild as soon as you see a famous name, which is legendary. A single player can also hang up and enjoy themselves, but if you want to get good resources, you still have to form a team. Social networking 8 points.
The total score is about 7.5. If you like the "999 for one knife" thrill of Legend and are not averse to the theme of Journey to the West, this game can be used as a pastime. But if you are a player who pursues in-depth plots and innovative gameplay, you may find it old-fashioned. In short, it is a decent and optimized version of Legend, neither a masterpiece nor a masterpiece. 👍
