Hello everyone, I am a game reviewer. Recently I have seen a lot of people discussing "Ultraman Legend Heroes", so I happened to check out several Ultraman-themed mobile games on the market in the past few weeks to compare and play them, including "Ultraman Series OL", "Ultraman Assemble" and this "Ultraman Legend Heroes". Today, from the perspective of horizontal comparison, let's talk about whether this new work of “Dekaijie Denoya can be obtained for free” is worth it.
Let's talk about the picture first. This game is at an "above average" level in terms of scene and character modeling. The texture of Ultraman's leather case is acceptable, and the lighting effects are cool. However, compared with the exquisite 2D graphics of "Ultraman Series OL", it lacks a bit of the "original flavor" and looks more like the leather case in the TV series has been directly simplified into a 3D villain. However, the skill movements are smooth during battle, especially the stretching of the special move, which is quite irritating after watching it for a long time. But the details of the scenes are average, and the reuse of maps is obvious, especially in the later stages of pushing the map, changing the color is a new level, which is indeed not as exploratory as the open map of "Ultraman Assemble".
In terms of gameplay, it is essentially a typical card + ARPG brushing mode. The main storyline includes pushing maps, sweeping, drawing cards, upgrading stars, and strengthening equipment. With a set of combo punches, players who are familiar with this type of game have zero threshold to get started. The highlight is the "Ultra Capsule" fusion sublimation system, which indeed restores the settings in Ged TV. There will be corresponding skill changes when switching between different forms, which is a plus. The seven-day mission will give you Dekai, the 15th level will give you Geed, and the monthly sign-in will give you Noah on the 21st day. It seems full of sincerity, but in actual experience, the acquisition cycle of Noah is as long as one month, and the fragments required for subsequent star promotion still require drawing cards or gold, so "getting it for free" is just the key to the door. If you really want to cultivate it, you have to rely on time and wallet.
Speaking of krypton gold, this is the point that needs to be complained the most. Although the game is labeled as free, there are so many gift packages in the store that it is dizzying, including monthly passes, battle passes, limited-time gift packages, funds, and almost every stage of growth has specialized payment points. Compared with "Ultraman Series OL", although there is krypton there, at least the paid content is relatively transparent, while the probability of drawing cards and the channels for obtaining fragments in "Ultraman Legend Heroes" are a bit "hide and seek". Sometimes it takes dozens of draws to only get a bunch of R card spacemen, and the mentality is easy to collapse. Of course, if you are a zero-Kryptonian, you can barely play by cleaning up your energy every day, but your progress will be significantly slower, especially in the arena where you will be beaten by the Kryptonian's Zero Infinite Form. You need to be mentally prepared for this.
In terms of social interaction, this game is relatively lightweight, with guilds and team dungeons, but the sense of interaction is not strong. Everyone basically does their own thing, unlike "Ultraman Assemble", which has the thrill of real-time multiplayer online battles against monsters. Fortunately, many classic battles have been restored in the plot mode, such as "Zero vs. Belial" and "Diga vs. Gatanjeer". The sentimental party will smile knowingly, but the plot performance is relatively simple, with only vertical drawings and dialogue boxes, and no animated CG, which is a bit regretful.
Taken together, if you are an Ultraman player who wants to easily collect some classic characters and occasionally experience the joy of transforming into a fighter, "Ultraman Legend Heroes" can be played as an "electronic figure collector". After all, the Dekai and Geed given in the early stage can really make you happy for several days. But if you are pursuing in-depth action operations or want a strong social online experience, then this game may not be able to meet your expectations. In horizontal comparison, its positioning is more like a "light krypton nostalgic card". It is quite satisfactory among its kind. There is no particularly outstanding innovation, but it is not unplayable.
Give me a final rating:
Screen: 6.5/10
Gameplay: 7.0/10 (bonus points for the capsule system, but overall it's a little too hectic)
Krypton Gold: 5.5/10 (many free benefits, but also many traps)
Social: 5.0/10
Comprehensive recommendation: 6.5/10 (Emotional party can try, rationality is the trap)
