To be honest, a lot of my friends have been into the Three Kingdoms OL interoperable version recently, and the one they ask me the most is "Axing, which character should a newbie play?" This question is not precise enough, because the essence of this game is not actually a single general, but the identity you draw determines how you fight. Today I will go over the four identities of the lord, the rebel, the loyal minister, and the traitor. Using data to speak, it will be clear at a glance who is strong and who is weak.
Let's first talk about the general distribution of identity winning rates. I have counted my own games in the past two months. The rebel thief has the highest winning rate, which can reach about 45%; the lord has the second highest winning rate, which is about 30%; the loyal minister and the rebel are in the same camp, but it is difficult to say the individual winning rate, because they often follow the lord to lose; the traitor is the worst, with a winning rate of no more than 15%, but the sense of accomplishment in turning the game over is unmatched by other identities. This data is not official, but I have played thousands of games, and the physical feeling is almost the same.
Why are rebels so strong? Because there are so many people. In a standard game, four rebels fight one lord. As long as you don't start with a collapse of heaven, the lord who focuses the fire is basically stable. The idea of selecting anti-thief generals is to use burst flow. People like Huang Yueying and Zhang Fei who can hit multiple kills in the output round, and cooperate with their teammates to suppress them first, will not even have a chance to breathe. I suggest that newbies draw the rebel thief in the first game, which is equivalent to giving them a free ticket to a victory tutorial.
As for the protagonist, to put it bluntly, "living as long as possible is the last word." The Lord has two more points of physical strength, which looks great, but you are a living target, and everyone's eyes are fixed on you. When choosing generals, you must choose those who are defensive or can protect teammates, such as Liu Bei and Cao Cao. Liu Bei can split cards outside the round to draw cards from his loyal ministers, and Cao Cao can counterattack with damage cards when he is beaten. They are both good players who can withstand pressure. Don't choose someone like Lu Meng or Lu Xun who is in the late stage. The lord game is fast-paced and you still want to develop. If you have full health and full cards, you will be gone in two rounds after being focused on fire. I have seen too many such lords give up for nothing in fifteen minutes.
As for the loyal ministers, they are actually the "tool men" of the whole party. When choosing generals, they have to cooperate with the lord. If the lord is offensive, you can defend; if the lord is shield, you can do damage. The most taboo thing is for a loyal minister to choose a general to play with himself, not caring about anything, and letting the lord get beaten in front. Don't forget, if the master dies, you will also lose. No matter how good your personal data is, it will be in vain. Remember one thing when playing Loyalist, don't be reluctant to keep extra cards in your hand. A peach can stabilize the situation at a critical moment.
The identity of the traitor is, well, both love and hate. A win can last a year, but a loss can last half a night. The core of the traitor is "controlling the field". You can't let either party collapse too early, and you can't let either party start a snowball. My experience is that in the early and mid-term, try to pretend to be weak, occasionally help the inferior side, keep key cards, and wait until the endgame to show your fangs. When selecting a general, you must choose someone with strong one-on-one abilities, such as Diao Chan and Sun Quan. A set of skills can repeatedly make a difference in the one-on-one game. You have to choose a pure shield general. No one can be killed in the endgame, but you can't defeat anyone either, and you'll just stare in the end.
Finally, I would like to give you some advice for beginners. Just draw your identity, choose a rebel, choose Huang Yueying or Zhang Fei. Don't be greedy at the beginning. Cooperate with your teammates to focus on the most powerful output position next to the lord first. When you have Zhuge Liannu in your hand, you can go back to the lord. This routine is simple and direct, has the highest winning rate, and is easy to build confidence.
After you understand how to play the traitor, then try the lord's defensive counterattack, then slowly understand the loyal minister's cooperation routine, and finally challenge the traitor's lone wolf gameplay. The ideas of these four identities are completely different, just like playing chess, every move is important. This is also the most addictive part of the Three Kingdoms OL interoperable version. Every game is changing and every game is calculated. By the end of the game, you will find that card luck is three points and identity management is seven points.
If you don't understand anything, just call me in the comment section and I'll reply as soon as I see it. I wish all newbies a successful start and don't be blindly killed by the lord when you come up. I know what it feels like. 😄
