Today I came across a mobile game called "Metal Fantasy". At first glance, I thought it was about mechas fighting monsters, but when I went in to play it - oh boy, it's a Three Kingdoms theme! But the style of painting is Japanese magic, with tower defense and RPG development. This mix and match flavor, who would have dared to do this 20 years ago?
To be honest, when I played this game, my mind was filled with memories. At that time, I was in the game arcade. I put in a coin and saw Guan Yu and Zhang Fei wielding a sword in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". It was very exciting, but the process was short, and the game was over after a while. Later, the "Warcraft" RPG map became popular in computer rooms. With a tower defense map, you can have a fierce battle with your buddies all afternoon, building towers, upgrading, and guarding your home. That's called a leader. Now that I'm older, I'm not that aggressive, but "Metal Fantasy" really makes me feel a little bit like I did back then.
Look at its tower defense core, including positioning, star promotion, and skill matching, which are in line with the ideas of World of Warcraft tower defense back then, but the graphics are much more detailed and the characters are cute. More importantly, it also adds RPG development. Generals can upgrade, wear equipment, and open bonds. This thing used to be played in two separate games, but now it can be played in one game. I remember when "Clash Royale" became popular, I was jealous for a while, but it was more competitive and I felt more frustrated when I lost. This game is much more peaceful, and the numerical growth is very user-friendly. It won't get stuck and make you drop your phone, and it won't be so boring that you just hang up.
What makes me most emotional is that at that time, to play games, I had to watch the computer or secretly go to the game arcade. Now I can play games while lying in bed and just click on my mobile phone. Although the name of "Metal Fantasy" sounds quite "sci-fi", it is still the familiar flavor of the Three Kingdoms at its heart, but it is dressed in new Japanese magical clothes. Just like when "Swallowing Heaven and Earth" was transformed into an RPG, every era has its own way of reinterpreting classics.
So, if young friends feel that old towers are soil defense, try this; if old players want to find something fresh, they can also have a nostalgic experience. Anyway, a middle-aged handicapped person like me has a great time playing. At least I don't have to compete with others for hand speed. I can use my brain to place the tower. It's quite comfortable to cultivate it. 😎
Okay, that's all. I'm going to change Lu Bu's equipment. Let's talk later!
