Brothers and sisters, here I come! As a senior migrant worker who squeezes into a paper person on the subway during the morning rush hour every day, and secretly fires two pistols during his lunch break while hiding from the boss's eyes. Recently, I was really taken by a mobile game - "Little Time in Cow Town"! And it has just released the swamp version. I played it overnight for three days. I have to come to Amway to give it to you 😭
Let's first talk about why it is suitable for commuting. Do you know the pain of squeezing into the subway at 7:30 in the morning, the signal is good and bad, and you want to play an online game but end up spinning in circles? Cow Town is a very user-friendly game. It's basically a stand-alone game. You can just click it when you're waiting for the elevator, waiting in line to buy coffee, or wandering around the subway. Plant a vegetable, collect an egg, and chat with the NPC in the town. You can feel a sense of reward in just a few minutes. You don't have to worry about it and don't spend a lot of money (currently I am very comfortable playing with zero krypton). The key is that you don't have the anxiety of “getting online a few minutes late and falling behind others.” We office workers just want to find a small world where we can play and stop at any time. This game perfectly hits my comfort zone.
Let's talk about this updated swamp version, it's really awesome! In the game, a road was opened to the west of your manor due to an earthquake, leading directly to a swamp area of purple mist. The weird and mysterious feeling, coupled with the background music, actually gave me a chill on my back when I played at night🌚 But don't be afraid if you are timid, go inside and you will find an NPC named "Iro" and a new character named "Feather" (why does the name look like a feather?). The two of them are rebuilding a monster town that collapsed due to an earthquake. Yes, you heard it right, there is a small town where monsters live hidden deep in the swamp! Isn't this a visit to the Pokemon studio? But it's this mix-and-match feeling that's particularly impressive.
If you help them complete tasks and repair their houses, you can unlock something called the "Flying Eagle Summoner". This thing is so cool! After using it, you can fly directly to any corner of the town. In the picture, your character is riding a big eagle (or an eagle-shaped aircraft?) gliding across the sky, with the wind blowing his hair, overlooking the entire town and swamp. That feeling... How to put it, is like the feeling of relief at 5:30 on a Thursday afternoon, free and healing🦅 I summoned it secretly when I was fishing at work, and it felt like my soul had flown away from my work station, haha.
From personal experience, there are a few small points that particularly stuck out to me:
First, the mission pace is not compelling. The plot of the new version of Swamp Line is divided into stages. Each time you advance a few steps, you can get rewards, without having to play for hours. My commute back and forth takes more than an hour, which is enough to complete a small section of tasks, which is very comfortable.
Second, the painting style is very warm. Although the swamp area is a bit underworld, the NPCs in the monster town are quite cute, their words are funny, and they have the temperament of Hayao Miyazaki's animations (not to mention porcelain, but that kind of feeling). The moment the house was rebuilt and the lights were turned on, I was a little touched.
Third, it really doesn't use any electricity! I have used my iPhone for more than two years, and it only drops 78% after playing for half an hour. It is much more user-friendly than those 3D masterpieces that get hot as soon as they are turned on. I don't have to worry about carrying a power bank while commuting.
Of course, there are also things I want to complain about. For example, there are occasionally some small bugs, such as the NPC stuck next to the tree and running in place, or the perspective is a bit dizzy after using the Eagle Summoner (maybe because I was wandering around and playing during the morning rush hour). But the overall flaws are outweighed. After all, it's a free game, so why do you need a bicycle? Moreover, the developer is from the first wave of the Internet, and the name sounds very average, but it is quite diligent in updating, unlike some games that cannot hold back a new gameplay for half a year.
Finally, to summarize: If you also commute for more than half an hour every day and want to find a casual simulation game on the road that is not tiring, has a little plot, and can be paused at any time, you can really try "Little Time in Cow Town". The swamp version has enough content to keep you playing for weeks, and the joy of free flight with the Eagle Summoner is definitely worth the download time. Let's not talk anymore. The boss is passing by, so I'm going to switch the screen and pretend to watch the work group👀 If you have any fun commuting games, please feel free to share them with me in the comment area!
